AWFUL ... DO NOT BUY!!!

I was so excited to buy this. I grew up with Atari. My husband bought this for me as one of my holiday gifts and I couldn't wait to get it. I felt like a kid again when it arrived at my house. I connected all the wires and turned on the power. Then it all went downhill fast!!!! First, they didn't tell you all the games that were included, so when I looked at the games on the menu screen, I was so disappointed. They were so boring. No Pac-Man, No KABOOM .... such a complete let down. Then to make it even worse, I select a game, Jungle Hunt (which I think is another name for Pit Fall), the graphics were horrendous. It looked NOTHING like the original game. There basically were NO graphics at all. There is nothing to the game. You swing on the vine and jump from one to the other 3 times, then you swim in the water and stab the alligators (or sharks, but you can't tell what they are because the graphics are so bad). THAT'S IT .... there is nothing more to this game. How could that possibly be fun??? Next I tried Astroids .... there are a few round(ish) blobs on the screen and a triangle that spins to shoot at the blobs. Again, THAT'S IT. There is nothing more to the game. SOOOOO BORING!!!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!! I feel like I got completely ripped off. I thought I was getting a piece of my childhood back. The only thing I want to do with this is throw it in the garbage. I will never play with it. Stay away from this product ... you will hate it. It's really awful.

When I bought this, there were games such as Asteroids, Space Invaders, Tempest, etc. that I had fond memories of and looked forward to playing again. While they are here...they are what I can only assume are the "Atari" versions of the games...not the ones I remember from the Arcade! So far, only space invaders seems similar enough to evoke the familiarity with the past I was hoping for.

Short answer, if you actually remember the Atari version and lust for them... go for it. If you're looking for the more playable Arcade versions, skip.

With my husband and I growing up playing Atari, it not only brings back memories, but also allows a new generation to become acquainted with these fun, non-violent games. This is a great beginner gaming system for younger children. Our 7 year old and 5 year old love to play these games. If you don't mind the simple graphics of the original games, this is a great video gaming system to buy if you are looking for an alternative to the violent video games of today.

We love that you no longer need individual cartridges like the original Atari, and the wireless joysticks are another plus.

We wish some of the old Activision games like Pac Man and Frogger had been included, but otherwise no complaints!

The games really take me back to my youth, however there are a few quirks with some of the games and the paddle controllers are not linear in movement. This makes it difficult to play games like Nightrider and Pong, but it's still a lot of fun and I like my 5 year old playing this much better than Black Ops and Zombies.

Loved the throw back to the 'old days'. Good selection of games already loaded, though not all of the old games . Had some issues connecting to tv, had to use older model to get it to work. Should work on new TV's with proper connection plugs (we didn't have)

Classic games with a wireless controller is not a good match

Wired controllers perform better. The wireless doesn't work well with the gyrations of playing the game--very limited direct line-of-site must be maintained. I like the true-to-old school console, but the wireless joysticks ruin the experience.

Pretty awesome to be able to play all these games again. Only thing I don't care for is the wireless controllers; they don't work if you point them away from the console. Other than that, pretty flippin sweet. Breakout is the best!
