I bought this model primarily because it was listed as a #1 best seller. I also bought another model, the Shining Buddy (ASIN: B01F7UQQGE) because it happened to be listed as a lightning deal. It's a good bit smaller than this one, so I figured I'd use it as a backup. Surprise! It WAY surpassed this one in brightness. This one doesn't list a lumens rating, and I'm guessing because if it did, people would see how much brighter other models are. The Shining Buddy is listed as 160 lumens; my completely unscientific guess is that this one is 120 lumens, tops. This one will be used as the backup.

Bought one for a friend for her birthday because she does lots of home improvement projects and extra light is always helpful. She also has a crawlspace under her house so she wears it when she has to go into the crawlspace so she doesn't have to carry a flashlight. Then, I made a joke that I could use it when I read and do my homework for graduate school...and it turns out...it's actually fantastic for reading! The three levels of brightness are great for adjusting it to just the amount that I want, and the different positions (angles that the light can shine) are great. Call me a nerd, but I'm totally buying one for use when reading. I'm in graduate school for English, so I read a LOT, and it's so nice to use this light because I can read anywhere, even outside at dusk. (I've actually been borrowing my friend's The side button makes it super easy to turn on and off and switch modes, and the (adjustable) elastic straps around your head (with the soft pad on the forehead where the light is) are super comfortable. Sometimes I even forget to take it off when I'm done reading! Not only WOULD I purchase this again, I actually am buying another one right now so I can give the first one back to my friend and keep my new one for me for reading. I'm also going to get one for my dad because he's older and loves to read, so this will definitely help him keep light on his book when he reads. Ironically, as I'm writing this, I'm at my friend's house and she's putting together a new table from IKEA and she asked if she could have the headlamp back to be able to see the tiny screw holes in the table. I couldn't ask for a more well-timed example--haha!

I originally purchased to use to light my way when I walk home after dark. I switch to the flashing red light when I see a car coming my way so they can see me and I don’t get hit.

This product is proof that good things come in small packages. I loved this headlamp so much that I bought five of them.

Two went to my kids who use them to read in bed at night. One went to my dad to provide extra and targeted illumination for hands-free work. Two more were deployed to in-case-of-emergency locations: in the glove compartment of my car as well as the kitchen supply drawer. I'm holding the final one as a future gift.

At one-third the originally listed price, this headlamp is a bargain for which you'll find a use. Everything about this item is outstanding. It has a lightweight design featuring a wide-strap, adjustable and elastic head band. A click of the side rubber button sets the brightness: 1 click is two LEDs, 2 clicks is 10 LEDs, 3 clicks is the full 18 LEDs, and the 4th click is the 2 blinking red LEDs.

Comfort isn't sacrificed for value - thick foam padding is embedded almost flush to the inside of the forehead plate. Finally, the unit sits on the front of that plate and can be rotated down to more than a 90 degree angle.

This is a super bright, compact, ingenious and user-friendly headlamp. I replaced the enclosed off-brand batteries with longer-lasting batteries. The no-frills packaging and low price belie the high quality and value of this headlamp. I highly recommend multiple purchases of this item.

I bought this for walking dogs in the early morning and dark nights ( as well as to help with picking up dog waste!) and it really does do the trick. The light is very bright so better to wear when not many people are about so you dont blind them! Comfortable elastic headband, secure. Fit for purpose and value for money. Bought this head torch last minute for a trip to Thailand where I thought it might come in useful whilst glamping and getting aroun at night. It's a decent little head torch which was cheap and included batteries. It has several different settings though to be honest I only needed one. It was most handy when I went into some caves but it loses a star for lack of brightness. I noticed this when others were using head torches that gave a much brighter beam in the cave whereas this was nowhere near as bright. Great buy for generally seeing your way around in the dark and I use it in the garden to feed the animals at night but not the brightest beam if you need something very illuminating.

For the price, this is a fantastic head torch. I use it during my daily cycle commute when its main use is for me to be seen rather than to see. For the latter, although it helps, my on-bike lights are better and brighter both on- and off-road. For eye-balling drivers who might not have seen you or realised that you were watching them before make a move, it's really helpful. I have it on the brightest setting and so it does get through batteries at a reasonable rate. So I use rechargeable Duracell batteries which I keep topped up to ensure max performance. It's also quite a size and sticks out quite far from your forehead. Although aesthetically it looks quite funny to others, my main worry is coming off my bike at speed and face-planting the road, pavement or other hard surface. This torch could do serious damage in such an event, and so is something to be wary of. In all, highly recommended to increase your presence on the road!

I used this during a 3 day hike across the Brecon beacons at night during some of the most torrential rain I have ever been in. It did a fantastic job of navigating our party to a wild camp site where it was extremely useful in setting up the tent in the dark rainy night.

It's a comfortable once adjusted and easy to find the button to turn it on just by feeling around.

It came with batteries and so was ready to go out of the box which is great as batteries are one of those things that gets left last minute.

My only gripe is that the seal around the end you unscrew to get the batteries out is not attached and so perhaps could quite easily be lost fumbling around in the dark potentially rendering it out of action.

Not that bright hgv uncoupling.

This is OK if using for jogging and cycling you would be seen. For doing work under a sink where it's dark fine but the light has no distance it can only light up an area about arms length really. I use it for coupling and uncoupling hgv at night and it does the job but I would of preferred something a little brighter. You can set it on 3 6 or 12 led,s but there ain't much difference in 3 or 12 to be honest. It serves its purpose for what I need but when you think 12 led,s you expect it to be bright. Or am I just being a bit over optimistic fir the price I paid? You get what you pay for I suppose and in my profession you don't want to spend a lot because you break them or lose them

The light has several levels of brightness which is useful, however the red lights flash which it didnt mention in the listing (a little annoting as this was the reason i purchased). Good light from the torch

Good light from the torch, 2 brightness's for the main light, the red light is not constant however, it blinks on and off which i am not a fan of. The actual light unit itself is quite bulky on the front of your head but is forgotten about quickly. Head strap is comfy enough and holds it on your head via a strap going round and one over the top of your head. The light can also be directed down using a hinge on its base. This does what it's supposed to but the bulkiness could put some people off and no constant red light is annoying (for me at least).

Even at the lowest level, this is brighter than the (admittedly cheapo) head-torch it replaces. Another plus - batteries are included. The unit appears to be pretty robust and the torch has 3 tilt positions. There's no fucussed beam, just a spread of light so this torch doesn't light the way very far in front of you.
UPDATE: I've now replaced this torch with a Coleman CXO+ 200 head light (around £20) and the difference is marked: I now have a head torch which is sufficiently bright with a good beam - well worth the additional expense.
