Very cool EDC flashlight, UI has steep learning curve. Extremely good value, overall. New favorite
I own several small flashlights that I use mainly while working on my car audio/electronics system in my garage. My night vision is also admittedly poor so I strongly prefer flashlights with a very low lumens setting so I can find my lost Juul at night while my wife is sleeping. My favorite flashlight up till now was the RovyVon Aurora A23, which is great because it is very compact, has a super low-lumens moonlight setting, has a tough body/shell, and is rechargeable with an onboard battery. But it takes a micro-USB charger and gets lost quite easily since it's small and shadow colored. I think this Wurkkos flashlight takes the top spot now. It's slightly longer than the A23, maybe by 5 centimeters, and roughly the same width. I got the red one, which is great because in addition to losing my shadow-colored Juul all the time, I now find myself constantly losing my small, shadow-colored flashlights. The red color is great because it's harder to lose. It also has a nice aluminum body which (so far) has not gotten scratched at all, despite sharing pocket-space with various screwdrivers, knives, whatever else. The light itself can be extremely bright (and hot) but by holding the button it transitions dimmer/brighter, so it can also get very dim. Critically, it "remembers" or reverts back to whatever was the last setting you had it on when you turn it on again. This is awesome, because I can click-hold and it goes to the dimmest level. Then I can turn it off, and next time I turn it on, it comes on at the dimmest setting I had before. Exactly what I was hoping for. If you want to use it "tactically," i.e., to blind someone suddenly, this may not be the best feature. But the workaround for that is to click twice and it comes on at the highest setting. The highest setting, I should note, emits significant amounts of heat. I have a few quibbles with it, one of them being that the UI is complicated as sh** to learn. But after getting lost and finding myself unable to even turn the thing off, I "factory reset" it back to the default settings and use it in "Simple Mode" and since then I've mostly gotten the hang of it. So, if you're looking for just, like, a basic on/off flashlight, you're going to want something else. But, being a tinkerer, I think it's neat that even friggen flashlights have operating systems nowadays, and it's cool that this unit has what appears to be a really advanced operating system with lots of features/functionality built-in that I can use if I ever learn how to and have such a desire. Another quibble was the battery aspect. This was the first time I'd ever interacted with a "14500" battery type. I can now tell you, after recently becoming an expert, they're exactly the size as an AA, but 14500's put out 3.7v instead of 1.5v and are usually lithium-ion rechargeable type. This was probably the biggest drawback of this flashlight. It does not come with a charger, nor does it have a charging port. The 14500 battery that it came with seems to do well, but I was very reluctant to use the flashlight, not having any means of recharging or replacing the battery once it was spent. I can also confidently say that 14500-type Li-ion batteries are not super common. Amazon had, maybe, 2 options that would arrive in a reasonable timeframe. So, I turned to a popular Auction/Buy It Now site and found a great deal for some 3.7v 14500 batteries, four batteries and two single-unit chargers, for like $10. Those arrived last night, and I now feel much more comfortable using the flashlight freely since I know I can recharge the batteries and pop in a fresh one whenever the need arises. So, there you have it. I think this is probably one of the best values you can find, flashlight-wise, but you have to be willing to learn some clicks/click-holds if you want to make full use of the flashlight, and you may also need to spend some extra bucks on replacement batteries/chargers for the odd 14500 battery-type this thing operates on. When I bought this unit, there were zero reviews, so I was kind of rolling the dice. But it's an excellent flashlight! Very high-quality construction and very nice, bright (and dim) light settings, with a few non-trivial downsides that, for the willing, would be easily overcome. I recommend buying it to those who own more than one flashlight already. For those who own only one flashlight, they probably wouldn't see the point of owning more than one flashlight, and this product is probably not for them. Peace.

Peace.

This thing is just awesome. I am a master automotive technician and I am extremely hard on flashlights. I use a sofirn sc31 pro as my main flashlight and was looking for a new backup.

The ts-10 with the 4k emitters puts out the most even and perfect mix between flood and spot that I have ever seen. It's not as bright as my sofirn but everything looks so much more natural with it. I could not be more pleased with how balanced and beautiful this beam is! The brightness is fantastic and the ui couldn't be better. The reviewers complaining about the learning curve have not spent the 5 minutes it takes to learn it. It is completely intuitive and I don't think I'll ever buy a light without anduril 2 now. The stepless ramping up and down is just a click & hold when it's on. First click & hold ups the brightness and will go all the way to turbo if so desired. To dim is another click & hold and release when you want or hold all the way to candle. I personally have no use for the auxiliary lights and turning them off is simple. 7 clicks from off will change states from dim, bright, flashing or off. And resetting the UI is just twisting the housing back a half turn then twist back.

Battery life is surprisingly good for a 14500 battery and there has been mention of it getting hot in turbo mode, but that has not been my experience. It gets nowhere near as hot as my 18650 flashlights have in turbo. Its the perfect little hand warmer after a 30 second turbo blast. Nowhere near uncomfortably hot and I have not calibrated the temperature sensor (you can if you want though).

One of my flashlight criteria is the body can not be black, silver or grey. I have lost too many $100 plus flash lights because they blend in with my under hood environment. I love that this comes in a bright red option. I wish there was a yellow or orange option if your listening wurrkos. It would be nice if they included a link for a spare battery as I would like to have one. But this light I have confirmed will work with button top and flat top 14500 batteries. There just are not many options on Amazon unfortunately.

The body is a bit slippery due to it's smoothness , but it is smaller in the middle which lends to a natural 2 finger grasp. I plan to add a bit of yellow heat shrink to the body for added grip and a place to bite down on (this light is the perfect size to hold in your mouth when working in cramped quarters) in the near future.

They really hit a home run with the rear button. It's big but not to big and it's either metal or hard plastic and takes a little bit of force to push thankfully. It has yet to fail me and never accidently deploys in my pocket. I can't stand the flimsy rubber junk buttons that nearly every other flashlight has. All the other light makers should take note here! This button wins best of show hands down!

Great job Wurkkos! You have made an amazing little flashlight. This thing should win awards! You can't go wrong with this light and I would immediately " buy it now" if I do lose it. But that's not likely as I guard this one with my life and it's always in my pocket!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hochwertig, hell, kompakt!
Reviewed in Germany on July 10, 2024
