Bugs are as follows:
1) Sync at 1/250 is off, 40% of the frame is a black bar. Above and below seems ok. I have tried with my D750's set to 1/200 auto FP and 1/250 auto FP; if you have it set to 1/200 the above is true, and if you have it set to 1/250 (yes I know it's not the true xsync for this camera) it will run both 1/250 and 1/320. 1/400 and above sync fine.
2) If you are bouncing your on camera, transmitter mounted flash, TTL exposures are dark. You can compensate this by add around +2.3ev FEC to that flash. This same problem happens with Pixel King Pro triggers. You can test this yourself by mounting the flash directly on camera and comparing the exposures at 0ev FEC.
3) Off camera flash exposures are also off with TTL. Unlike the on camera bounce flash which seemed OK with around +2 to +2.3ev FEC added, I found too much variation to find a good value for off camera lights. TTL exposures were changing based on a few things: if you had a light modifier on the flash, whether you had the off camera light bouncing off a wall or ceiling, if it was bare, and the distance from the subject. With a modifier or bouncing, I was getting consistently blown out frames at 0 ev and had to dial back to around -2ev. I compared the exposure in the exact same situation using Nikon's own optical TTL and exposures were near perfect at 0 ev. When I moved the flash away from the subject using Nikon's system, exposures remained good. With the R2/Godox x1 triggers, I kept having to change the FEC value to numbers that didn't really make sense, mostly dialing it way down.
I have tried both godox versions of this and the flashpoint version and officially conclude that these triggers should not be on the market until they can actually make them work properly (for Nikon that is, I've heard people are having better luck with the Canon version). To be fair, pixel can't seem to make their Nikon triggers work right either, despite the canon ones working fine as well. Nikon must have a much more difficult system to reverse engineer.
I hope that in the future firmware fixes these issues, but considering other companies (pixel) have not fixed these nearly identical problems in several years, I highly doubt it.
If you are only going to use these in manual power, they'll be ok, as long as you consciously remember that sync is off at 1/250s. It also defeats the purpose of buying a ttl trigger.
If you want a reliable alternative and only need manual power adjustments, the Cactus V6 (and v6 ii) are hands down the best/most reliable triggers I've used and I've used a lot of stuff.
If you shoot Canon, these triggers will likely be fine.
My lights are all-manual, so I don't need the adjustments they offer for other stuff. Best trigger I've ever had, and since it's Radio it's not limited to ify connections.
