sliced cucumber, lemon, grated ginger, and fresh mint
I like to put it in a pitcher that diffuses flavor but keeps the seeds and ginger gratings. Delicious!
If you are already eating healthy, you may want to try the book Cinch, by Cynthia Sass. But, if you are just starting out trying to change your lifestyle, this is a decent place to start.
The premise is to eat 1 large serving fruit or vegetable, 1 protein, 1 whole grain, 1 plant-based fat, and some spice at every meal - keeping the portions under control, and drinking plenty of water. See, not exactly groundbreaking.
Another good thing about the book is that even if you know about nutrition and the proper way to eat, it can sometimes be difficult to do so. Some people do much better following a "diet" that provides all of the rules and regiment to stick to. This would be a good book for that type of person.
