Absolutely LOVE The this cookbook. It is filled with new recipes that are very kid friendly. My kids have already attached post-it notes to half of the recipes in the book (to mark what they want me to make). We have had the cookbook only a few days and have already made four recipes. We loved them all and can't wait to make more this weekend. It will certainly make the FBD easier for me to follow!

If you a Flat Belly Dieter, you should be aware that only a few recipes give the FBD serving size as a measure (ie. 1 cup = a FBD serving). For most recipes, you are going to have to divide the dinner into serving sizes (usually 4), take out your serving and then feed your family.

I've been doing the Flat Belly Diet since May, 2010. I love the diet and new way of healthy eating. My husband and I have 6 children, and I wanted to make small changes for our family without causing anarchy. I've been adapting our family meals slightly and spending a lot of time calculating calories for my homemade cooking. It's been a huge challenge. I was excited when I saw the family cookbook, so I bought it. I was so disappointed when I looked through the cookbook at page after page of meals I knew my kids wouldn't touch, even when bribed with dessert! The meals also seem to be made of uncommon and very expensive ingredients, which I also wouldn't make for budget reasons. I wouldn't recommend this book unless your family likes unique, gourmet-type meals.

I was offered to review this book for my blog at "Mommy? I'm Hungry!" I made the Broccoli Chicken Casserole, Marshmallow Cereal Bars and Crunchy Peanut Butter Cookies. All were delicious, our kids and my Husband all enjoyed everything I made and am planning to make other recipes from this book too.

I enjoyed the Flat Belly diet for the most part. The part I had the most trouble with is that I actually enjoy cooking and new foods. The recipes in the original FBD book were pretty basic and, for the most part, ho hum. I found it difficult to feed my family and still be on the diet. But along came the FBD Family Cookbook. What a GEM! I have tried about 10 recipes since I got it a couple of weeks ago and EVERY one was a success!

Are there recipes I know I won't try? Yes - I know my family's tastes...we won't be eating the piccadillo (DH doesn't like raisins in his food); or any of the tofu dishes...not big fans of it. But I can honestly say that there are more we WILL eat than we WON'T. AND I actually feel like I'm cooking, instead of just preparing meals.

I have had this book for about a month now. I absolutely LOVE it!! Tonight we made the Thai Basil Chicken. It was absolutely wonderful!! I haven't made a recipe yet that we haven't enjoyed. Well, I do have a picky eater and he won't eat the tofu recipes but the rest of us have loved everything we made so far. I would highly recommend this book to any one.

This is the second book i own in the 'Flat Belly Diet' series. Like i said in the other book review, i was very impressed with the recipes. I love the maple syrup oatmeal and the various snack recipes. As a working woman, i find it hard to find filling snacks, and i hate constantly snacking and i absolutely love the pretzels in dark chocolate. I also like the way has colour codes on the side to divide it between breakfasts, snacks, salads etc. Wonderful book, i've already cooked about 6 recipes and have not as yet been let down. Very impressed.

I have tried several recipes from this book and like the other Flat Belly books, the meals are pretty good, the sweet treats are divine. I tried the chicken and broccoli casserole and the spaghetti with meatballs. I disagree with a previous reviewer that that these are 'gourmet type' meals. Case in point, the two recipes I just mentioned. The chicken one I will make again, the spaghetti with meatballs was a little bland. The peanut butter cookies are out of this world good- but almost too good. Very, very hard to enjoy them as the book suggests- 3 cookies and a glass of lowfat milk is a meal. The carrot cake cupcakes are also tremendous. I didn't do the orange icing because of a citrus allergy in my house but I made a little cream cheese frosting with maple syrup and topped with a few walnuts. Out of this world good. The cupcakes themselves have a bit too much sugar for my taste but that can be remedied. I also tried the oatmeal chocolate bars -they were ok but probably won't make again.

I love the diet itself, the recipes help to find healthier ways of eating. I have found that watching my calorie intake with healthy calories works the best. Many of the recipes require some more obscure ingredients that you may use a small amount and that may be the only recipe that call for it. If you want to use many of the recipes, it would be good to be near a Trader Joe's or Whole foods. Otherwise, you can order some of the tougher to find ingredient on Amazon. As far as the diet, I lost about 40 lbs in about 6 months. I follow my progress and discipline myself using the "My Fitness Pal" application on my iPad. I lost about a lb every 2-3 days. It was fun watching it gradually go down.
