Product Description
*** FlatOut - The Best at Preventing Flat Tires! ***
FlatOut is a one-time tire additive that prevents flats due to punctures up to ½” and stops slow leaks around the bead or valve stem or due to the natural porosity of the tire. It is made up of synthetic TangleTek fibers including Kevlar and unique DamRight fillers suspended in our special Never-Settle base fluid (non-adhesive, non-toxic and freeze resistant). When a puncture occurs, escaping air forces FlatOut into the wound creating an air-tight fiber jam. Think beaver dam but with the fibers and fillers forming an amazingly durable plug! And it’s proven, having been used in military and industrial applications for decades.
*** Important Safety Information ***
FlatOut Sportsman Formula Tire Sealant contains propylene glycol. It is not for human consumption. Keep out of the reach of children and always use eye protection when installing product. May cause mild skin and eye irritation. In case of contact, wash the affected area immediately with water.

For fat bikes, the dose for a fat tire (26" x 4.0" and above) is half of a bottle. For Plus sized (roughly) 3.0" tires, its 12 ounces. Scale down from there for smaller tires.
On the pictured cargo bike, with 26"x4.3" factory tires and different wheels, I had a jagged piece of metal insert itself into the tire. I was able to pull it out and roll the tire and FlatOut sealed the breach. It was a big enough tear that it very much lends credence to their 1/2" hole capability claim. Given its performance on that and a couple of other pinhole (goathead) punctures, it has totally replaced my use of the other leading green-colored brand. I am running it, so far, on 3 separate bicycles.
The fact that this sealant never dries out and lasts for the life of the tire is a major benefit. The fact it claims the ability to seal holes double the size of competing bicycle tire/tube sealants is a bonus on top.
TUBELESS BICYCLE SETUPS
When I spoke to FlatOut, the sealant had never been tested as a tubeless sealant. Its life-of-the-tire durability, plus its ability to seal larger holes attracted me to it as on my large cargo/bikepacking bike flats are a disaster and often on the street are past the capability of the water thin sealants in common use. This stuff is thick and better suited to holes both big and small. The FlatOut product specialist I talked to recommended - to be sure of a bead seal to the rim - that I paint the tire bead with FlatOut on the outside where it contacts the rim to ensure bead and rim form an airtight seal... and give it a try. Well, I wasn't able to do the bead-painting, and instead treated the installation like a standard tubeless install, adding the sealant after using air to seat the tire bead. It has worked PERFECTLY. I couldn't ask for better. No air loss whatsoever in the tire over time (the pictured bicycle wheels tubeless and are the ones I put FlatOut into).
In the picture attached to this review, I changed from 80mm rims and 26x4.3" tubed tires, which were my first FlatOut test - to what you see in the pic now: 90mm rims, set up tubeless, and 26x4.8" tires with 16 oz of FlatOut inside each tire.
NOTE:
FlatOut seems to spread itself evenly around the interior of the tire and stay that way even after sitting for a bit, as even though there is considerable sealant inside the tire, there is no sloshing or unbalanced rotation.
PRO TIP: Flatout has a resealable application hose built directly into its lid. If you have presta valves, just take a common, cheap presta-to-schrader adapter and put it over the applicator hose. Then when you remove your valve core to inject the sealant, simply press-fit the adapter to the un-cored valve. The o ring already inside the adapter will provide a seal and you can easily inject FlatOut into the tire.

I didn't look for what caused the slow leak, I didn't patch the tire, I merely put in 1/4 bottle of this and pumped the tire back up, easy peasy! A week later and the tire is still holding air so it did seal up whatever was causing the leak.
Bottom line, if I can do this (56 year young grey hair granny LOL) then anyone can do it.
I rotated the valve stem to be mostly toward the top, removed the valve core, popped up the cap on the bottle, pulled up the tube from inside the bottle, put it over the valve stem, held it up and squeezed in about 1/4 of the bottle, replaced the valve core, kept the valve at the top, attached an air pump and aired the tire back up. Easy peasy!!!!!!!!!!!
After researching a bunch (YT videos, and articles), I realized that folks LOVE this Flat-Out product. AND IT WORKS GREAT. It will seal larger sized holes than competitors, and will last way longer inside your tube, compared to the life expectancy of competitors' products.
It's not hard to install. And when I read some folks complaining of 'install problems', it's definitely Operator Error on their part. Watch a short YT video (there's plenty) of 'how to install it, follow the directions, and it will take you 10-20 minutes to do BOTH tires on your bike. The only reason it even takes that long, is that you have to remove your valve stem (just unscrew it, using the little tool that comes with you Flat-Out), allowing your tire to fully deflate. MAKE SURE your valve stem IS AT THE TOP (12 O'CLOCK position), before you start installing the Flat-Out gel/liquid. Make sure you have the install clear tube firmly on your valve stem. Then go slow, when squeezing it in. Have a couple of paper towels ready, for any small issues. Re-install your valve stem. Re-inflate your tire. KNOW ahead of time, HOW MUCH Flat-Out to put in your tires. I contacted Flat-Out, and they told me to use 16 oz (half a bottle) in EACH of my tires. But, I have 26" x 4.0" fat tires on my bike. A standardized mt. bike will take a LOT less.
I have been riding for months, with this in my tires, and had no problems whatsoever. This will go into all of my mt. bikes, from here on out. Try it, it works. Keep in mind, there is NO product out there, that can prevent ALL flat tires. But this will protect you, much better than some of its competitors (who kind of survive, mainly due to their name-recognition).
