From the Author
Though this is a work of fiction, most of the events, situations, and settings were birthed from my personal experiences. The scenes in Mexico and Nicaragua were taken from places I often visited yet never in a resort. I found the people of these countries to be very gracious and noble. Brazil is the setting for the conclusion, but I've never been fortunate enough to travel there; I did extensive research on this fascinating culture for Flatline, and if in any way I am in error, please let me know.
From the Inside Flap
"Ain't we murderers Herc?" asked the young protege.
"No!" the seasoned outlaw barked. "We're not murderers."
He jerked aside the threadbare drapes nearly tearing them from their rod and jabbed his finger out the window into one of South America's largest cities. "Those worthless pieces of... slaughtering those babies, they are the murderers! We're killers. Get that in your head. There's a difference."
