The 7000 valve is a high flow rate control suitable for both residential and light commercial applications where the plumbing is 1" to 1.5" and the demand for water is great. With the new larger homes being constructed today equipped with the latest in luxury fixtures and appliances, the water softener servicing the home needs to be able to provide flow without significant pressure loss. Softeners equipped with the 7000 are a perfect match to meet these homes needs. In addition to high flow, the 7000 incorporates advanced SE electronics with features as double backwash, soft water brine tank refill, flexible programming and optical positioning (no more micro switches). The valve body features connect clips making servicing a breeze. Finally, a high flow is available to complement the system. 2/16/17 Update: Called the vendor (602abcwater) and they are sending a new cam (freebie). I'll at least keep the old one as a backup. Tested the water before running the unit through a cycle after fixing it, with Industrial Test Systems WaterWorks 481108, and the hardness was at the highest level. After regenerating after fixing the issue mentioned above the the strip did not change color at all so the hardness was undetectable. Upgraded my rating to a five for the great customer service and and previously mentioned this unit works great. One last thing, the way to access the filters, flow restrictors, injectors and disassemble the unit is really great once you read the instruction and figure out how to pop out the plastic retainers. Very convenient, if you're working hard to get them out you're doing it wrong.
1/27/2020 Update. Still going strong. I have this outdoors in Texas weather. I originally planned to build a shed around it but never got around to it. I never did get that cam I mentioned years ago but didn't really need it. The only maintenance so far has been cleaning out a bunch of valves/injectors/baskets which it didn't need but i did it as I had the turbine/sensor out for cleaning when the unit would not register water flowing. Easy fix. I'll keep it as 5 stars. The reason I'm updating now is I recently recommended the same unit to someone looking for a softener.
