My video/audio arrangement is pretty drab. an old 46" Sony HD TV and an old Sony blueray DVD player. nothing else. i watch this (and other) music DVD's in my basement while riding my stationary bike and working out. DVD package says made in Germany. Copy right date is 1997. DVD case also says filmed in front of a live audience at Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, CA.

Absolutely no problems playing this DVD on my TV/DVD player. Video and audio are very good.

My guess (and my wife's) was that Stevie Nicks looks to be about 35-40 years old at the time this was recorded. if that guess is even close this performance was recorded in about 1988.

Can't say enough good things about this performance. they play all my favorite songs. 22 songs on this DVD. favorites are: The Chain; Dreams; Everywhere; Gold Dust Woman; Gypsy; Landslide; Say you Love Me; You Make Loving Fun: Rhiannon; Go Your Own Way and Don't Stop.

A Blast from the Not-So-Distant Past!

I have been a fan of Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks for a very, very long time. This filmed concert, which kicked off The Dance Tour (1997/1998), was my first time seeing the band live in any real capacity. I remember my Dad took me to a show on the Shake the Cage (Tango In the Night) Tour (sometime in 1987/1988) but I was too young to have any real memory of it. I remember a couple songs and lots of screaming fans but beyond that ... this is why you don't take ten-year-old kids to rock concerts lol.

Anyway ... I saw The Dance on TV. I purchased the CD, the VHS (yes, the VHS) and later the DVD ... I began investing in Fleetwood Mac's back catalog (I already had everything Stevie had released to that point), and as soon as tickets went on sale I purchased a ticket. I'm glad I did that since Christine McVie did not participate in the 2003/2004 tour, the 2009 tour, or the current tour. Crossing my fingers that recent rumours are true that she wants to come back.

Aside from The Dance Tour, I've seen Fleetwood Mac live on the Say You Will Tour ('03/'04), the Unleashed Tour ('09) and their most recent World Tour ('13). This DVD performance still holds up to how excellent the band is performing these days.

As a live recording The Dance is amazing; the audio CD is nice but the DVD is what you want. I remember walking through shopping malls in 1997 and all the audio stores were blasting this concert on their televisions to advertise their sound systems. The picture quality is still amazing - my PS3 does an excellent job up-scaling the quality a bit - and the audio is just as awesome as it was back then. I recently had to repurchase this because my old copy was damaged. The only real difference was packaging ... my original DVD had a thick paper/cardboard (?) casing, but I'm sure that only held true for the first few pressings. This copy came in the standard DVD jewel case.

I love to watch this concert once or twice per year. It makes my heart pound, and it makes me smile... and, occasionally, brings a tear to my eye -- and I'm a middle-aged man. Fleetwood Mac has always been one of my favorite bands, and I love so many of their songs. I so wish I could have been there at that concert! It would be a memory I'd cherish for the rest of my life! The crowd that was lucky enough to be there at times didn't seem to appreciate the music, which made me incredulous... but the concert, the band, was incredible!

This was a surprising and emotive reunion of the classic 'Rumours' Lineup of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, after years of much documented personal and professional problems. In my opinion this is, quite simply, one of the best live performances available on DVD. I've seen them live several times, and whilst their concerts are often 'heavier' and less polished than this, the sheer talent and musicianship on display here is incredible. Whilst everyone shines individually, the Mac prove that they all rely on each other for true perfection - the complete lineup of this classic incarnation of the band is better than any particular sum of its parts.

The embellishments towards the end when joined by another band for 'Tusk' might be a bit distracting and maybe a little silly for some, but it doesn't detract from the show overall.

This DVD is good for its age, and sounds particularly amazing through a 2.1 or (better still) 5.1 speaker system, which is the only way to truly do Mick's drums and John's bass justice.

The only thing that's missing is an HD blu ray upgrade of this legendary show. I wait in hope...
