Let me address a few complaints by other reviewers. It is true that the fish in the mobile are made of cardboards. That said, this is not cheap construction. You can tell when you see this in person that it was hand made by someone that took time to make sure everything balanced. It isn't meant to be handled or grabbed. It is delicate but should last a very long time. It is a piece of art for your nursery (or any room in your home). You wouldn't be disappointed in the quality of a painting if you gave it to your toddler to play and found that the painting didn't stand up to the slobbering. This mobile is art.
Yes, it is true that the fish hook in the middle of the mobile is a real hook, but, as said above, this isn't meant to be played with. You will hang this mobile from the ceiling (as per the instructions) and no one will ever be able to touch the hook.
The Danes are notorious for their attention to detail and this mobile is no different. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
It was hard to justify the purchase price--money is particularly scarce, it seems, when a baby arrives--but we got a gift certificate and decided to buy something with it that we otherwise wouldn't.
It is made of paper, but the construction and precision is top-notch. (It's a heavy paper--a sort of card stock.) The balance is masterful--the fish really do "swim" with just the slightest breeze, narrowly missing one another as they circle. We have a lamp nearby, and it throws the shadow of the fish on the ceiling and walls, adding to the effect.
The fish hook and worm in the middle is a nice touch. In a nursery, though, we decided to remove the hook, just in case it were to fall. It was easy to get the hook off and put just the worm back on.
We really love this thing, and our baby watches it with glee. It's high quality and looks modern, and we plan to leave it up for years. It doesn't look like a nursery item that's limited to a nursery, and it isn't marketed as a nursery product.

Lovely mobile, endlessly watchable as the fish school gently to and fro, avoiding the worm on a hook in their midst. Came fully assembled and perfectly balanced and ready to swim.Published 12 months ago by Dorothyanne Brown
