Product Features

  • Magnet designed to hold on one side only directly to flat steel surface. Multiple Poles are evenly spread across its surface to prevent sliding. It does not hold well to other magnets.
  • Magnet holds up to 12 pounds per linear foot on contact with flat, smooth ferrous steel, without layer of material between magnet and steel. Minimum recommended length for magnet is 1"
  • Adhesive covered by peel-off liner is on non-magnetic side. Adhesive is pressure-activated, permanent, acrylic type with initial tack and minimum of 24 hour cure time requirement.
  • Adhesive bonds to clean, smooth and uniform surfaces made of paper, wood, stainless steel, painted steel, aluminum, glass, and rigid plastics. For best results see full product description.
  • Magnet withstands temperatures from 0-150 degrees Fahrenheit. Made in USA.

Product Description

Perfect for making flat lightweight items magnetic. Magnet requires direct and full contact with steel for maximum hold, therefore it is best to make sure that magnet is flat. Magnet & adhesive work best when applied at above 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15.56 degree Celsius. For best results: 1)Allow magnet to reach room temperature then cut magnet with heavy duty scissors or hobby knife. 2)Apply magnet's dark gray side to large metal surface for several hours to flatten curl. Do not roll magnet strip in opposite direction to remove curl. 3)Clean applicable surface for adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry. 4)Peel back liner from the adhesive and place item on adhesive. 5)Apply adhesive to surface with firm pressure 6)Allow adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours or 72 hours to reach maximum bond with surface.

This tape was strong and it completely met my expectations. I used it to secure candy paper bags to doors during an event. Each night we left a card and some candy. They held up on the doors for 5 days (450 of them) and I still have 1/2 the roll left for other crafts. Really great value.

I've used other magnetic strips where when you turn them back on themselves, they are attracted to a position that lines up their edges perfectly.

With this one, there is no way to place two segments on each other such that the edges stay lined up. Their "magnetic grooves" line up such that there is always overhang off both sides. Therefore, you don't get as secure of a magnetic hold, and it's not as intuitive to manually line them up.

NOTE: This wouldn't matter if you're not going magnet-to-metal, as metal will adhere anywhere.

Very useful. You will start attaching it to everything. The magnetic hold though, is very weak. I would not buy again and I am contemplating whether I should just return it. Everything keeps falling off.

Works great to hang school calendars to fridge. Cut these into 1-1.25" chunks and stuck to the back of the calendar. Last year we used smaller stuff that was terrible. This product had a great adhesive and a decent magnet strength. Will use again.

I purchased this to hold some LED strips to a metal beam. This is only suitable for making magnetic labeling.

THE GOOD:
I thought the value was good. It's a long strip for a fair price.
The sticky part is awesome. I accidentally put some in the wrong place on a flat surface and I could not peel it off by hand.

THE BAD:
The magnet is terribly weak, so weak that it hardly holds tiny LED lights onto steel. If anyone lightly brushes the metal beam the lights fall. The magnetic strip covers the entire LED strip and both surfaces are perfectly flat. There could not be more ideal conditions. This magnet won't even stick to its self under its own weight.

I saw something similar in a home improvement magazine that showed how you could attach this to a bathroom mirror box and hang items on it as well as attach things like water alarms to hot water heaters. I am sad to say its an amazing idea lacking in magnetism. Simply the magnet is not strong enough to hold up large nail clippers or keep a water heater alarm from moving away from the heater. The alarm sits on the floor so I simply wanted to use it to make sure that it didn't come loose from its position since the tape would wear off over time with the changes in heat and humidity. When they make it magnetic enough it will be great, in the mean time keep looking.

Wow, so many uses. Used in a laboratory setting where we stick tracking info for parts on this magnetic tape and affix it to machinery. Cheap, reusable, efficient.
