I was buying decorations for our house for our annual Halloween party and came across flickering bulbs. My grandmother used to have a pair of lights on the wood panel walls in her dining room that she could turn on and they glowed and flickered like candles. Always thought that was cool.

These bulbs screw in to standard US light bulb sockets in your lamps and emit a warm orange flickering light. They aren't very bright (3W) so don't expect them to replace a 60W bulb. However they are great in wall sconses and along hallways. This is also a great price for these bulbs. I think they were around $5/each in hardware store and Halloween stores. I've tried 6/10 and all worked fine.

I love these bulbs. They give off a nice warm glow that looks like flickering candle light in my antique lamp. I tried to find them locally but that was impossible. The only place I could find them with the standard base I was looking for was at Amazon. I'm so pleased with my purchase.

I've been fascinated by these things since I was a kid 30 years ago. Now I can buy them in bulk, and for a much lower price than individually at a hardware store, if I could find them at all. Much classier than those cheap flickering LED's you can find everywhere now days. These flicker flames are as close to the real thing as you can get! I don't think words can capture the nature of these things. How about- like a science project? Mesmerizing, and they last a long time. I've had them in a chandelier turned on 24 hours a day, for over two years. House got struck by lightning once, and had to replace two out of five of the bulbs, but I still have some left over! Whenever I run out, I'll just buy more. Impress your family and friends. Great for Halloween, and Christmas.

First off, these are not very bright for lighting purposes, but that is pretty much understandable. And we did not need it for that purpose. We searched for something that mimick real candle light and this is right on the money. Perfect for bedroom or in our case garage as it set nice mood for backyard time, only thing left is hammock and we are set :)

I put this flicker bulb into a new contemporary lamp and it looks marvelous! Standard bulbs just made it too bright, I wanted some ambiance not reading light. This did the trick!

I got these for Halloween. I have to say, they don't do much light-wise, but they are fantastic for creating atmosphere. Definitely a little fragile; one of them didn't work out of the box, so plan for that.

I have sconces in my living room..including wired candelabras as part of my mantle. I never saw them before I moved here...and they seem old, but they are cool! They are wired all together, but can be turned off individually. I usually keep regular candelabra bulbs in them, but sometimes we switch them out for these.

They are orange. I mean, really orange. And the "flame" sort of crawls up the black part inside and flickers. I am not sure it looks like a real candle...not really. More like something you would see in a haunted house ride at a park! ha ha! But interesting in a way. We ALWAYS put them in for halloween, and some other times we just want a funky light. They don't cast much light, more of an ambient type of thing.

They are candelabra SHAPED, but with a standard (a.k.a. "medium") base. Make sure that is what you need. A standard base is like the typical light bulb base. It is also called e26 or "medium base" in the U.S. You can get different shaped bulbs (including candelabra bulbs) in an e26 (or "standard.")

What makes it confusing, is that there is another type of bulb base that is often called "candelabra" base. Those are e12 bases. So actually you can get a candelabra bulb in a medium base...or a candelabra bulb in a candelabra base! (it IS confusing!) The torpedo (candelabra) can have a blunt tip (like this one) or a bent tip that looks like this one. These have the blunt tip.

anyway, I loved these bulbs. All of them worked out of the package and are just as described!

They look like decent romantic candle flames but give off far less light than an actual candle and are not at all useful for providing any real light source. Useful for effect only. Fits in a standard light bulb socket. Best application is probably for a chandelier just for ambiance or perhaps in combination with blacklights or other halloweenish lighting.
