How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This mammoth 2 volume well-documented book requires a book to adequately review, so I will focus on the heart of the book, namely rejection of absolute values and the acceptance of made-up morality. We can see the rejection of so-called old-fashioned moral values and the acceptance of the new morality has gotten a lot of men in big trouble in the last few years, a problem even if only half of the stories and claims are true. Careers and lives ruined, or close to ruined. Gosselin covers much more than morality but the rejection of the Christian worldview and the acceptance of the secular worldview. Also covered is the American and Western drift from the three balanced branched government system consisting of the legislative, executive and the judicial systems. In the US and Canada, we now have an oligarchy headed by the Supreme court which rules by past case decisions, not by the president or legislative decisions. Several examples are given where the will of the people is irrelevant, what is relevant is the will of the court, often dominated by leftist progressives. The result is a dictatorship that ignores the will of the people. Unfortunately, some of the Supreme Court decisions have been disastrous, such as the infamous "three generations of imbeciles is enough, or the Dred Scott ruling that certain people groups are inferior, thus cannot be free citizens. Fortunately, Frederick Douglas and others fought against the US Supreme Court and now their ruling is rightly seen as worse than irresponsible. And then there is the flag salute Supreme Court ruling that had to be reversed a few years later after a wave of violence against Jehovahs Witnesses erupted largely as a result of the first ruling. Last, he covers the wave of anti-Christian persecution in the US and even in Canada due to their resistance to go along with trends they feel are wrong, such as the abortion and euthanasia rulings which social science has helped us understand the unintended consequences of these trends. Experience is not the most economical lesson, but in the long run, is the most effective lesson if we listen to it. I can see a lot of young men today watching their behavior in light of the lessons of the me-to movement.

The best book on that subject l studied since l read 'The Possessed' of Dostojewski.
Een incredible good book. If you want to know what 'in depth' can mean, read that book.
It lays bare thé real problem of our world. Only in resolving that issue we will have a future!!

No fun for the politically correct, liberal mind, wishing to flee the troubling truths of postmodenism's abject failure
Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2015
The author "cleans up" postmodern folly very efficiently in this volume. Not for the intellectually lazy, those seeking quick and easy answers for the deep issues of life or those squeamish and fearful about reading anything more than pop-sci and comic book length books. He is also very professional in his scrupulous research and substantial references.
This book is a real treasure house of philosophical history and thought; of current moral and cultural wars that are showing up everywhere with ever deepening rifts of irreconcilable social divisions that risk destroying the West and Europe that have been fleeing the absolutes, the axioms and foundation stone principles of any rational morally responsible society.
Atheists especially will find enormous challenges here in being confronted, head on, by clear exposures of the vast array of glaring contradictions they tend to adhere to so adamantly, merely ignoring rather than honestly grappling with those issues.
People of faith will find a very complete store of proper and intelligent answers for many hard questions facing them as well.
Prepare to make your brain work hard!
Highly recommended.
