About the Author

Kazu Kibuishi was 24 years old and working full-time in the animation industry when he began developing the idea of doing "Flight," He began contacting his friends in the animation, comics, and graphic novel world to see if they would want to join the project. Little did he know that it would draw him into comics full-time. He now works from his home studio in Pasadena, California, creating and promoting "Flight" and his popular young adult comic "Daisy Kutter," which was nominated as an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults -- the only graphic novel on the list in 2005.

"Flight Volume 8" is a great ending to a wonderful series. This collection of short, graphic stories from a variety of artists contains something for all ages to enjoy.
You don't read the stories to find out what happens; You read the stories slowly to take in the often beautifully imagined landscapes, settings and characters. The visuals do most of the storytelling. All of the stories add unique flair to this collection. Some branch off into quirky humor, others are very surreal- but all of them are touching. You see yourself in many of these characters.
My favorites include "The Hollow Men," "New Year's Day," "Echoes" and "Encore." Check it out, this is a collection of stories you will often pull off your shelf to enjoy again and again.

i couldnt wipe a silly smile off my face while reading the book.
you get the stars of previous volumes - Jellaby, Ken Shuri, Malinky Robot and my favorite Tree-head and Igloo-head.
it is sad as this is supposed to be the last Flight book.

As the cover subtlety hints Flight Volume Eight (8) is the last volume of the Anthology series. I've been a fan and follower of the series and have not been let down by any installment, especially this final one.

I love the Flight series...and have used Volume Eight in my Cartooning classroom to inspire the next generation of comic book artists. I'm impressed at the wide variety of artistic styles and story lines. I think it leaves the reader wanting MORE from each of the artists. So sad there won't be a Volume Nine! Well done Kazu and friends!

Having the rest of the volumes this definitely completes the collection so far. I personally love the series as I am the comic book fan who does not love the standard superhero tales! If you are one too, this book is sure for you! Let your imagination fly!
