Both Michael and Briana are amongst the over-rich of affluent society America. Both though are "the right sort", generous with their skills, time and money. Michael's role as Good Samaritan heads the relationship towards disaster. Remember though, this is classic romance.
Flight Surgeon is a book for the leisurely holiday, or the long weekends unwind. Some of it was a little too schmaltzy for my taste, and some of the build was a touch long; but overall I really enjoyed it, and I know that regular readers of romance will love this book. The sex is more about good hands than over heating graphic detail. Those that want the full monty of athletic intercourse, nicely disguised as romance, need to go elsewhere first. Then afterwards read this crafted book, in order to relax and in good time recharge their batteries.
I am intrigued to find out how Frankie, the butler, really fits in. That will have to await the sequel, to which I look forward.

Set in Nashville, Dr. Michael Thomas has always been focused and driven by his love of medicine. His skills and knowledge of both medicine and flying have brought him purpose and joy in his life.
Dr. Thomas soon meets a beautiful young singer, Briana Price, who is a unique artist and a talented individual in her own right. They are a good fit and think their lives might take a new direction. That was, until another natural disaster calls Dr Thomas away. He soon learns of a Spanish beauty in La Paz, Bolivia. Why is he looking deeply into her eyes, one wonders? Is this just purely a medical diversion or something more; and where does Briana fit in all of this? Was Michael and Briana's meeting just bad timing or something more?
Readers will enjoy the many adventures taken by Dr. Thomas in other parts of the world as a volunteer for DWB, helping those sick and injured after a natural disaster had struck.
If I had one criticism about this novel, it would be that it ended way too fast. It left me with the feeling there was more to be revealed. I wanted much more of this story to unfold. While it may have been left this way intentionally, I personally hope I will see a follow-up novel about these talented and spirited young characters. Based on the writing talent of this debut author, I am sure we will experience more of his writing skills in the future. I know that I for one will be looking forward to reading more of what the author has to offer.
The author includes a cast of delightful secondary characters; namely Frankie (cook/house manager) and Bonita (Bolivian beauty). I would love to see a sequel that expounds on these two characters.
The focus of the story, while clearly one of romance and love, engages the reader in issues of hope and trust -- factors that can unmistakably make or break any well-meaning relationship.
In summary, this was an enjoyable book, held together by both the prime and secondary characters. Flight Surgeon provided for a good romance novel, though as I mentioned above, I wish there was more to the story because I've grown to love the four main characters.
