Comment: This book has already been loved by someone else. It MIGHT have some wear and tear on the edges, have some markings in it, or be an ex-library book. Over-all it's still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

My daughter loves this book. It lays out all the words that end in -at in a way that makes it easy for her to see how they're similar, and read them herself. A confidence-boosting book for kids learning to read, and it is funny, too.

This is an excellent starting point when your preschool to kindergartener shows an interest in reading. The accompanying story emphasizes words with letters that compliment "at." Cat, fat, mat, sat etc. There is plenty of opportunity to find the words in the story. The book gives a child a sense of accomplishment as they learn the words and then find them embedded in the story.

Pat the cat and friends are back! The hilarious characters who introduced phonics to beginning readers have taken the next step into shared and independent reading. Children will enjoy following the strings of rhyming words that tell all about Pat's new hat and the magical muddle it causess.

Do you know about Pat?
He's a fat cat with
a hold in his hat!

Kiddo and I read each of them 20 or more times at about 5.5 years. He also loved the Numberlies. Sturdy books you can resell or pass on. Can't believe they are out of print.

"Pat the Cat". Uses a fun, easy to understand storyline to teach young children to recognize the writing of and the sound of "at".
