Nursing a broken heart, Robbie Jordan is trading in her life on the West Coast for the rolling hills of southern Indiana. After paying a visit to her Aunt Adele, she fell in love with the tiny town of South Lick. And when she spots a For Sale sign on a rundown country store, she decides to snap it up and put her skills as a cook and a carpenter to use. Everyone in town shows up for the grand re-opening of Pans ‘n Pancakes, but when the mayor's disagreeable assistant is found dead, Robbie realizes that not all press is good press. With all eyes on her, she'll have to summon her puzzle-solving skills to clear her name, unscramble the town's darkest secrets, and track down a cold-blooded killer--before she's the next to die...

When Stella is found dead in her home, between the incriminating evidence at the scene, and the known difficulties regarding Pans n' Pancakes, Robbie finds herself one of the main suspects. Now it's up to Robbie to piece together what she can and prove she isn't a murderer.
During the investigation, Robbie also discovers some information about her family tree. Upon further searching, she finds that there are people in the town of South Lick, Indiana that could be tied to her father - in turn, tying them to Stella. The town is full of secrets, backstabbing, and blackmail. Will Robbie figure out how everything is tied together before it's too late?
Flipped For Murder is a really good first book in Maddie Day's new Country Store Mystery series. The plot is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing about a lot of different things. The author did a great job adding different plot lines into the story and then connecting them all at the end. The whos, whats, and whys of the story are engaging and the reader will not want to put down the book. Several of the characters introduced in Flipped For Murder could be who murdered Stella, as they all have motive.
Robbie is a great main character. She's realistically written as a kind, generous person who had a dream and worked hard to make it a reality. She treats people with respect and dignity, the perfect person to work in a retail/food establishment. The secondary characters all have their perfect places within the pages of the novel.
I enjoyed the world building in South Lick, Indiana. Robbie's roots are there and she's able to find out things from her family's past - some good, some bad. The interwoven storylines keep the story exciting and engaging. If you are looking for a cozy mystery that is fast paced (never a dull moment) and will keep you on the edge of your seat, I suggest you give Flipped For Murder a try!

Robbie Jordan has gone through a lot of stuff, but she made out great!!!!
She has got Aunt Adele behind her success with along with Jim her lawyer, Danna the Mayor's daughter, and a few other people.
When certain people didn't want her to keep her restaurant/store open because it is a bit and her food is way better than Ed's, things start happening and she figures it out. It took her awhile to prove it to Officer Buck, but when it starts adding up he got on it!!!!
Then it really got serious when she was a number one suspect for murder and she didn't even know the most hated person in town.
Now, you have to read it to find out!!!!

Good idea to have the recipes at the end of the book instead of mixed in with the story. I can hardly wait to read the second book in this series.
I like the fact that the author did not go overboard on social media terms in the story. Get enough of that in real life. Email and tablets used just the right amount. Thank you for that. The Kentucky jokes are funny.

Robbie frantically tries to rally herself and her restaurant when people begin staying away because of rumours she might be a killer. Robbie is also an avid puzzle solver and cannot help herself from trying to solve the mystery. Read to find out what happens!
