At first I wasn't sure where this story was going. The beginning has a lot of flashbacks to previous lives that slowed the plot down. They are essential to the story, however, but it was a little disjointed jumping back and forth so frequently and quickly. About halfway through, the pace and storyline picked up. There are plenty of twists that keep you wondering who's "good" and who's "bad," or if there really is a good or bad side. Once I got to that point, I didn't want to put it down until I found out what was going on. The writing and character are good and engaging. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something different.

I first bought this mainly because of my tremendous admiration for the authors parents, Graham ans Santha Hancock. I was curious to see how far the apple rolled from the tree. The good news is the apple did not fall very far at all, but in it's pwn special direction. That being said I enjoyed this book tremendously. Maybe i am sucker for original plots, and to me this was a brilliant twist on the whole re-incarnation thing. If this has been done before I am not aware of it. The author wove his plot in amusing and thought provoking directions with two unlikely heroes on the wildest journey since Around the World in 80 Days.
The book grabs you and never lets go and the ending made me put down the book and hop for a sequel.
As I mentioned earlier, I mainly bought this book out of curiosity and Sean's connection to my favorite author, but The Flooding stands on it's own merits. I did notice the nod to his dad's censored Ted Talk which was great and in perfect context. Good job Sean!

A non-stop action adventure into past lives. Sean Hancock reveals the world of ayahuasca and altered states of consciousness when Samsara accesses the deep recesses of her memories of multiple past lives. Why are people hunting me? Can I trust my master? What do these dreams mean? Samsara/Rosa asks these questions as she emerges from her forgetfulness on her eighteenth birthday and begins to remember her lives over the past four thousand years. Her memories come in handy giving her skills she never learned as Rosa, but they also get her into trouble when she overreacts in certain situations. The author has woven an intricate tale which has its beginnings in the distant past, beyond Samsara's earliest memories. But can she trust those memories? A very fast paced action novel, the reader will find it difficult to put the book down.

I've read this amazing story not through ,I'd stop to do yhings of life demands and always return making it harder to put my kindle down.
I was a fortunate reader that had a brief awakening , a teaser of sorts before a full book was given to me it made me so interested in the life of this tranferred soul body to body that I definately had to have the book and am a advocate for the continuance of Sam !
I am not a fan of fiction but somehow felt drawn asif in getting a glimpse of this talented creation I could understand the message.
Now I want more ! ....I'm waiting ......

As a reader and a writer, I love to read a rollicking good tale, and THE FLOODING is surely one with its great pacing and seemingly sci-fi tale. But, it is, as I perceive it ,as well does the young protagonist, Rosa/Victoria, also a reality that is beginning to be more and more recognized. I’m now in my so-called golden years, but always love a story about the younger generations and their POV, informing me that life ever-renews itself and that I can trust the young to care for themselves and the future with great sensibility and with a wisdom that surpasses the mundane and sees into the parallel realities that are as real as what is seen with our 3-D vision. I eagerly look forward to any sequels; and dare we hope, a series or movie.

What a fun, action-packed read! The author was able to combine best parts of a Dan Brown novel with elements akin to the Wachowski's Matrix and Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles whilst still being able to find a unique and fresh take on this spiritual sci-fi (if that's a thing). I breezed through this book in a matter of three days, and my only disappointment is that it ended on a cliff-hanger and the next installment is yet to be released... However, when it does, I will be the first in line waiting for a digital copy at the Kindle Store (if that's a thing). Loved it!

My initial approach to this book was that the young Hancock's first novel would surely resemble that of an ambitious and young son of a well-known author trying to hard. I could not be more mistaken. Although there's definitive room for improvement in his writing, the overall feel of the book is pretty good. It developed in to a real page turner as the pages went. One can definitely se the presence of Hancock sr., but as I am a huge fan of his work and theories i loved it even more. Sean also gave his own spin to it so that he didn't come across as a stenographer. In my opinion most suitable for audience Sean's age and south of that (40). Will definitely jump right on to the sequel and would not be surprised to se this turning in to a movie.

It was so good I almost feel guilty for getting a free copy of it since it won the nomination as a Kindle Scout favorite. I am looking forward to any and all sequels.
I enjoyed Sean's skill in telling a fresh story that will grab the attention of fans of urban fantasy and of metaphysical fiction. I'm absolutely certain he will become a force to be reckoned with.

A fantastic mystical story!

As far as I was concerned this book hit all the right spots, rebirth, reincarnation and the fact that we live out many lives in order to get where we are going. It was not religious, given the topic, so there is no big preaching ideas, it is what you make of it and ties in strongly with some beliefs of my own. The characters were well presented and very real. The search for the truth with a few twists and turns along the way. I really hope there is a sequel to this as I really want to know what happens to the characters now and how they cope with the circumstances they are now in.
I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends.
Sean has done a great job for his first book, and I for one am hoping that there are many more to follow.

excellent pacing and really good character development

One of those books that you just cannot put down till you get to the end, excellent pacing and really good character development.
Thanks to his father's decades of research into the occult and spiritual mysteries Sean has managed to write a great story that goes deeper than most of the mainstream thrillers whilst remaining grounded in reality.
To anyone who's followed the works of Graham Hancock and his contemporaries you will love this book.
The flooding and also entangled by Graham Hancock are breaking new ground on the borderline between fantasy and Sci fi and the way they introduce quantum and spiritual concepts in an approachable format is a breath of fresh air and will hopefully influence a real change to the way writers approach their subject matter.

Even though i am only half way through, i wanted to review it as i am enjoying this book so much.
it reminds me alot of Entangled by Graham Hancock, with similar themes, that in no way is a bad thing.
I have been waiting for Entangled 2, so this was a great find for me.

Very refreshing read and just perfect in timing with my current interests. Without giving anything away... a bit crazy, with action, ayahuasca and past lives it makes this book a great read. Really looking forward to the next part.
I would only elaborate a bit more on the ending as the culmination and then follow up could be a bit more descriptive.

This was my first experience of a kindle scout book and I wasn't disappointed. Great concept and it was left with the potential for further books in the series which I hope will be coming in the future.
