Update: There is a similar Gotek floppy emulator on eBay for $79 that ships from the FL and is guaranteed to work with my PSR 740. I bought it and it does work, probably because the vendor included a pre-formatted 4GB usb stick. At first I could not successfully format a larger USB stick, but I found a 4GB stick lying around, and it formats fine. So apparently you don't want to use a large stick for this emulator. I don't know what the maximum size stick you can use, but 4GB works. The utility disk I got with both of them was identical. I wonder if that was the problem with the one I attempted to return, or if I really did need a different model? You can buy these floppy emulators from China on eBay quite cheaply, so I would recommend doing that and using a 4GB usb stick.
