About Flora Morris Brown
Flora Morris Brown is an author, speaker, publishing coach, and Certified Guided Autobiography facilitator. During her childhood, she discovered by watching her mother operate a successful beauty shop that people will pay you to do what you enjoy doing. As she listened to the conversations of the patrons waiting for their turns under hair dryers, she formulated her life plan to never settle for less than she deserved and to follow her dream.
Determined to follow paths that intrigued and empowered her, Flora taught junior high through university levels, operated a private tutoring program, operated a gift basket business, organized a few business networks, and with her husband raised four children along the way.
Since retiring as Professor Emeritus from Fullerton College she has expanded her travels, stepped up her writing to include trade publications, hosted a radio show, and has dedicated herself to guiding aspiring writers and those who want to write their life stories. Her passion is inspiring people to make choices that lead to their happiness. Her motto is "No one becomes somebody without the help of somebody else."

It was minutes before the Mistress of Ceremonies introduced me. I listened from backstage ready to give a speech to over 200 retailers at the L.A. Gift Mart in downtown Los Angeles. I felt regal in my two-piece Jones of New York purple wool suit and was especially proud that my three-inch heels were a perfect match.

Growing up as a child in a different time that I live in now, I was always taught to be seen and not heard as a girl growing up in the 60’s and 70s. I was taught that you should not wear your heart on your sleeves and let people see your feelings or your true self. My family would tell me not to cry in public because it would show weakness and no one would respect you. I was also taught to speak the truth. I wa9 months ago Read more -

You can get the attention of your target audience also by borrowing two techniques retailers use.
1. Tie your promotions into current trends. Promote your book, service or product as a solution to a trending problem.

Unfortunately, friends and family are not good candidates for this. They mean well, but we need help from other writers who understand the creative struggle.
