I've been buying this product for 15yrs., automotive applications mostly. This is a great way to protect anything under the hood, the frame, or any metal part underneath. The only thing I found that it isn't good for. Are parts located in the high washout area. Meaning any part near the tires (upper or lower control arms and so on). I've tried spray undercoating but same thing, gets washed away after a few rain storms. Spray bed liner seems to last the longest. Avoid getting this on your exhaust parts. The product will burn off, creating a strong vile smell. This is a good option for open gear applications like bike or gate chains.

I live in Maryland, and unfortunately, they like to salt the roads even when we barely get a dusting. Thankfully our winters are decently mild most years. I have been using this stuff for over a year now. With my first 04 Tacoma I got used, it came with a fair amount of scaly rust on the frame and cross members. While there were no holes, I spent a good deal of time fixing it the best I could with wire brushes, rust converter, and POR15 paint. I would then treat the entire frame with fluid film. It beads the water up and doesn't allow moisture to even touch what its on. Last year, we had a more active, snowy winter with this stuff and not one more spec of rust showed up. After a year, the fluid film still remained almost everywhere. Anyway, with that truck getting smashed by a falling tree in a tornado (sucks, right?), I'm on to my second Tacoma (2015, 2nd Gen). While this truck has no serious rust at all, I treat the underside to prevent any rust from ever forming. I coat the entire frame, cross members, differential, and suspension with the gallon bucket then get the harder places with the spray can and extension hose. Throughout the year, I will have a few cans on hand to hit any places that managed to get washed off, which, seems to be very minimal. Overall, I will use about 1/4th of a gallon bucket plus 3 or 4 of these cans. I am very liberal with it.

I have read concerns of this attracting dust which I have not had any of. You may find very small amounts of tiny pebbles or leave particles here or there but nothing that is going to stand out. It does an amazing job of keeping your frame looking factory fresh. Even in places where I had rust, this stopped the progress and seems to make it dormant. This stuff is lanolin based (wool wax, the wife calls it sheep fart because at first it has a bit of an old gym shirt smell which goes away after a few days). It always seems nature has something for us that just works and in most cases works better. Try it out, you won't regret it. I've been thinking about using it on some of my guns that I store to prevent corrosion.

This product was purchased to do an undercoating on my Toyota Tundra. I sprayed the frame, fender wells, and every hole or cranny I could get this stuff into. I'm confident this has kept the salt/atmospheric rust down on this vehicle. I've also used this on my door locks to the house, shined my leather boots, and spray my Ariens snowblower with it to help snow passage. Most recently used it as dielectric grease on some light bulb ends for my Toyota pickup. The more I read about this product the more I'm finding everyday uses for this. For example, the exterior natural gas line to my house has surface rust. I've been able to stop it from persisting by coating it with Fluid Film. The list goes on and if you are on the fence about it remember it is a $30.00 product for (3) cans that can potentially save you thousands just by spraying it on your vehicle and other steel components. For those that use it on your snowblower impeller housing and impeller, the snow slides right through with no clogging. Very impressive product!
