About the Author
Chris Moujaes sought to explore a question as old as the world itself: who is actually pulling the strings of fate? He’s done so through FLUX DESTINY — a universe where destiny is a visible, controllable force. The series frames a storyline where characters have the power to literally design their own realities. What began as a single sketch in 2005 has grown into a universe of books, graphic novels, web comics, and merchandise that is celebrated by a highly passionate fandom. Chris has been creating ctional worlds since he was six years old. Though he probably spent too much time drawing in the margins of his homework, all that daydreaming led to a successful career as a motion picture executive, lm producer, character designer, creative director, and writer. Some of Chris’s many lm credits include: Executive Producer of MASS EFFECT: PARAGON LOST (nominated for an XBOX Video Award) and DRAGON AGE: DAWN OF THE SEEKER — anime movies based on the hit video games by BioWareTM. Chris is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He’s a full-time dad to two amazing girls. Bentley, his loyal Australian Shepherd, and his cat Sheldon, slept by his desk during the entire process of writing this book. They all call Texas home. Hook ‘em Horns!

In lack of better words I suppose "amazing; breath-taking; fantastically written" are decent enough. If you love –or even simply like– reading sci-fi themed books with interesting characters and realistic and relatable relationships between those characters along with a whole new world of curiosity, inspiration, and creativity..then I'd suggest buying a copy of this book, whether it be a digital or physical one.
After reading Chris Moujaes' first book, which was illistrated –and nicely drawn if I might add– I was able to get to know those same characters I loved in that one in a more descriptive and intimate way than before in this novel. While some have pointed out minor and trivial errors in the book such as 1 or 2 instances of grammar and at one point there's a slight decriptive error with one of the characters that can be so easily overlooked you might not even notice it at all. As for the grammar– unless for some reason it genuinely bothers you to the point that it physically burns to view it through your vision spheres– it's arguably pretentious and petty to dwell over any longer than it takes you to process the words in your mind while reading it. Some of the best writers don't follow grammar rules, y'know, and I believe Chris Moujaes has the capability and capacity for greatness and his Flux Destiny universe along with him. Excuse my constant redundancy throughout this, but everything is true as I've said it and I'd recommend this book to anyone and also for anyone who likes this book to check out Chris on his Facebook page "Flux Destiny" and follow along with his small webcomics for more humor and everything else you'll find in this novel.
At first I was worried that the story wouldn't be interesting to those who weren't familiar with the heroes. I was extremely wrong. Sure, there is information in it that more in-depth fans would pick up but the way the book is written there was plenty of moments where it was explained for those who wouldn't know and it not disrupt the flow of the story.
Which, the flow? Decently paced. My _only_ complaint was it felt a little rushed and muddied towards the end. That could just be me but do not in the least bit let that detour you from the overall amazing composition, chemistry, and world that is laid out for you. The author has done an outstanding job of creating a world that can suck you in and descriptions that allow you to really use your imagination to experience the story. I have always known the author as an artist and I am glad to see that he has included artistry with words to his repertoire without being too wordy or dragging out unnecessary details.
I highly recommend for anyone who is interested in the series whether by just coming across it or has been newly introduced. You will not be disappointed.
Result: I COULDN’T put it down!
I was drawn into the author’s intricate universe and the rocky relationship between the two leads, Marco and Hugo. The pacing is superb and the mix of action/comedy/drama was so well balanced. I went through so many emotions!
I have to also add that now that I’ve finished the book, I can see why this book has such great reviews and why its fandom is so loyal. Now that my friend has successfully sucked me into the world of YA fantasy books, I CANNOT wait for this author to release the next one!!!
I loved it so much I’m recommending it to my book club!
