Well-illustrated and clearly written, with just the right level of detail, I highly recommend this book for anyone with a serious interest in implementing or applying FM synthesis. One of the authors invented FM synthesis, the other, now a college professor, played a key role in creating the the first successful commercial implementation of the technology, the Yamaha DX-7. It has helped me to make better use of commercial FM synthesis products and has provided the foundation for my own attempt to create a software-based FM synthesizer.
