This is a wonderful book and should be in the fitness library of anyone who uses or is considering using the foam roller. I recently started using one and find it amazing. Trouble was, I didn't know what all I could do with it and didn't know how to use it properly to give me the many benefits it offers. Not until I got this book.

What size roller should you get? I have a half roller, or short one. I later regretted not getting the longer one. I plan or ordering one and using both. The book says, "If you're a beginner, a half roller is best. If you're looking to challenge yourself, you'll want a circular roller. Some people purchase one long roller and cut it to best meet their needs."

The book shows you how to get on and off the roller, how to sit on one and even lay on one correctly to do your exercises.

The foam roller is a great help for poor posture. In the book we read, "Poor posture doesn't just affect us cosmetically --- it can also affect our breathing. Hunch over and try to take a deep breath, then do the same thing but while sitting or standing tall. Notice how much your ribs expand and how much air you take in."

Part 2 offers sports/activities-specific foam roller exercises to help with those specific needs. For example, there is a program for golfers, runners and tennis and racquetball among others.

Part 3 instructs the reader in all the many exercises, complete with photos to show how to do them correctly. They include exercises in . . .

Seated Series
Lying Series
Kneeling Series
Standing Series
Massage Series

There is an exercise on each page and each page generally has two or three photographs, demonstrating the correct way to do the exercises.

it's about half foam rollers. The book cover is misleading as it shows a full foam roller but you have to get to page 77 before you ever see a full foam roller, and the pictures are horrid, you can't see what she's actually doing, they are blurry, black and white and without contrast. I asked for a refund.

Not worth the money -- sent back a couple of days after it arrived. I bought the round Axis foam roller after taking a "stretching" class at the gym. Figure I buy a book to learn more techniques. The book had minimal techniques for the round roller. The real focus was on the "half-moon" roller. Plus, the illustrations are very small and bunched together. Going to try the OPTP manual.

Ok...So I bought this digital copy hoping for a complete guide on using my foam roller for post work out recovery. 75% of this book was on foam roller exercising and very few pages on foam rolling as post exercise or pre exercise massage. It is full of abundant exercises but not much of what i was looking for which was trigger point massage and release. The book has a lot of introduction on foam rolling (very long narritive), but I almost wonder if they was thrown in as fluff to give the book more pages. I felt it was lacking the meat and potatoes of what I was looking for.

I was a little disappointed that there weren't more exercises to do with the "round" roller. There were tons of exercises for the half roller, which we didn't need.

I've used the foam roller for years and I love it for massage. However, many of my clients find it too intense.

This book takes foam roller usage to the next level. It has exercises for rehab and strength from beginner to more advanced levels.

Ideal book for home exerciser or exercise professional.

Note of caution: if you have never used a foam roller, start with a half roll or have someone spot you.

I ordered this booklet along with a foam roller & received the booklet today. At first glance I was surprised at the quality of the paper & printing & when I flicked through it it was even worse!
It is printed very poorly, the pictures are in black & white which may have been OK if they were printed a bit darker or on better quality paper. As it is, they are so faint, it would be an effort to follow the exercises using the images & really not worth it.

I am returning it right away & getting a DVD set instead.

Received as a Christmas gift. This book is not worth the money. The pictures are poor quality, so much so, most times you can't tell where the foam roller is positioned. Plus, there are only a few stretches and exercises which use the 6" diameter foam roller. Most of them use a half roller, which is misleading considering the cover. I got a better set of exercises in a pdf from the internet. Don't waste your or any one else's money.
