The FNX-9 frame extends beyond the bottom of the holster and with it the last two "teeth" of the accessory rail. If you apply any torque on the draw, a rail tooth will catch on the bottom of the holster. As a result either 1) the gun does not draw or 2) the gun is drawn with the holster still attached.
If the "sheath" into which the frame fit was a bit longer, this holster would be a much better fit for the FNX-9. As is, the product is difficult to recommend for FNX owners.
I did not have any of the shipping problems that some of the other reviewers mentioned. My holster arrived in 3 days.
Also, and VERY important, this holster (as with ALL Kydex holsters) requires that you draw it straight out of the holster. It's retention mechanism works at its best when the gun is being pulled sideways out of the holster as it would if someone NOT the wearer were to attempt to take the firearm. So as well as preventing the firearm from falling out of the holster, the way the holster is designed it also prevents someone else from taking the gun away from you.
If you are among the people having trouble removing the gun from the holster, see if you are trying to remove it in ANY other direction but straight out of the holster. This is why the roto version of the holster is so popular, you can adjust it to that angle which corresponds to drawing the weapon straight out that's based on how YOU draw the firearm.
But on this fixed angle holster, you simply need to adjust your draw to it's angle. Once you've done that you'll find, with very little practice, that you always draw it properly.Read more ›

Good holster, keeps my FN Herstal FNP-9 locked tight. Maybe a little too tight. I've had some trouble with it hanging up, but I'm sure it will loosen up with time.Published 21 days ago by Raymond
