  • Running twice as fast as the 1500rpm retail version, the NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM provides extreme airflow and pressure performance
  • Combined with the industrial PPC series' robust polyamide construction and advanced protection features, this makes the fan ideal for challenging industrial applications.
  • While the standard NF-F12 is one of the most energy efficient 1500rpm 120mm fans on the market, the industrial PPC version's three-phase motor provides a further 10% reduction in power consumption when compared at 2000rpm.
  • Both the impeller and the frame of Noctua's industrial PPC fans are made entirely from fiber-glass reinforced polyamide which can withstand temp. up to 140 DegreeC and makes the fans more robust and break-proof
  • A special varnish coating that covers the motor and PCB, the NF-F12 industrial PPC complies with the ingress protection rating IP52 means that it is not only highly dust resistant but also withstands dripping water equivalent to 3mm rainfall per minute.
  • Designed for pressure demanding applications, the Focused Flow frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-F12 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds
  • The NF-F12's stator guide vanes are set out in Varying Angular Distance & feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to spread the noise emission over a broader frequency spectrum & thus make the fan's sound pattern more agreeable to the human ear.

Product Description

Conceived for industrial heavy duty applications that require enhanced cooling performance and advanced ingress protection, the NF-F12 industrial PPC (Protected Performance Cooling) is a ruggedized high-speed version of the award-winning retail model. Thanks to the outstanding aerodynamic efficiency of the NF-F12 design and the use of a novel three-phase motor, the industrial PPC version provides superior airflow and pressure capacity while keeping noise levels and power consumption moderate as against comparable high-speed fans. While its fiber-glass reinforced polyamide construction and certified water and dust protection make the NF-F12 industrial PPC suitable for operation in challenging environments, the renowned SSO2 bearing technology guarantees an MTBF of over 150.000hrs. Topped off with Noctua's trusted reliability and 6 years manufacturer's warranty, the NF-F12 industrial PPC is an ideal choice for highly demanding applications that require superior flow rates and ultimate dependability.

I just bought two of these fans and want to say they are amazing.

I want to clear some things up about this fan. I see people complaining about it being loud.

This fan, as the title says, is 3,000 rpms.

Any fan, doesn't matter who makes it, at 3,000 rpm is going to be loud. You're moving a small propeller 3,000 rotations a minute, 50 rotations a second, creating a vortex, fans smashing against air and blowing it out. That's going to be loud by default.

This fan though is a pwm fan. That means it has the ability to be controlled by your motherboards bios if it has a pwm (4 pin) header available.

Pwm stands for pulse width modulation. This means that the fan always receives 12v of power that it needs, in a form of a pulse, a shot of 12vs, but then receives a break, or a pause in the current. When the fan receives a break it slows down and then gets another shot and receives its electricity again and ramps back up. The more breaks sent, the slower it goes. The less breaks it gets and more pulses the faster it goes. Think of it as flicking the fan blade with your finger.

These breaks are controlled by your motherboard. It decides how many breaks to send based on the tempature of your CPU.

Motherboards like Asus allow you to set the thermal limits and fan speed limits. Such as high is 55c and low is 30c. So if the cpu is at 55c then run the fans at 100%. If the CPU is at 30c then run at 40% speed. If between 30c and 55c then run between 40% - 100% based on between temp. So the closer it gets to 55c the faster the fan spins.

Now this having pwm is important because even though its a 3,000rpm fan that doesn't mean it has to run at 3,000 rpm. This fan is designed to run lower.

They are a lot faster than the standard versions. When paired with a regulator, they're perfect for radiators. I used these to replace a push pull system that used antec on 1 side and and a high powered industrial exhaust fan on the other. The antec were able to keep temps down under regular use and the exhaust fans were switched on for gaming.

Using the highly accurate scientific method of using the fan to blow air on my face, at the same sound level, the two fans are similar in output, if anything, the antec seems to blow more. Once mounted on the radiator however, the Noctua is much more quiet when maintaining the same temp as the antec (return coolant actually measured). I now operate the fans at 40% normally which keeps the temps lower than when the antec were at 100%. When I put the Noctua at 100%, it's able to keep the temps reasonable during gaming without sounding like jet exhaust (the old industrial exhaust fans).

This is the bests fan for a water cooled system. I have a Corsair H80i and I replaced the fans with the 1500rpm fans and they really were super quiet, but I wanted more airflow for a better/more overclock on my FX-8350 cpu so I bought these and replaced the other noctua fans. These, I can hear but it is only because it really is a 3000rpm fan. You can't hear the 1500rmp's but I want the extra security of cpu temps/fan speed. I can set these up in corsairlink to run at 1500/2000rpms and my system will bump it up a bit if I start to heat up a little. I think the extra added security adds a peace of mind to me. I know it is there when I need it. The 1500rpms were great but limited. I recommend both pending on your needs...but Noctua all the way!!!

I love these fans! I was hesitant to order them because of some reviewers saying they're horribly loud and others saying they were quiet. I was willing to take the risk and bet on the fact that those complaining they were too loud just didn't take any time to configure them, and I am so glad I did!

I installed 4 of these 140mm fans and 3 120mm in my new rig and I absolutely love them. I have 2 140's as front intake, a 140 as rear exhaust, a 140 as bottom intake next to PSU, 2 120's on my H100i radiator and a third 120 next to the radiator as exhaust. They all come with rubber brackets and I installed all but the radiator fans with Cosmos rubber rivets. Super easy! They all come with rubber sleeved cables that aren't too short and aren't too long. I did have to run a y-splitter for my two front fans because I ran out of pins on my motherboard, and it was enough of an extension to help them make it across the huge case to get them plugged in. If you have a large case and intend to put these near the front of your chassis, you will most definitely need extensions so plan ahead! I'd rather have to extend one set of fans than have 7 fans with super long cables cluttering things up.

After the quick and easy installation, I powered everything on and I was shocked at how loud it was. It was loud enough that my 10 year old and I had to raise our voices to hear each other clearly when sitting 4-5 feet away. HOWEVER, using ASUS' UEFI on the Maximus VII Hero motherboard, I was able to use the built in Qfan to quiet them down enough to the point that I could tolerate sitting near it while I installed the OS.
