This interface is excellent and works well with Windows so long as it is configured properly. That is to say that, when I first used my unit, I noticed several instances of popping and what I perceived to be line noise. The former was caused by the buffer being set too low (128 ms) which I increased to 1024 ms, thus removing the matter. The line noise was not caused by the interface itself, nor the computer, nor the software, nor the interconnects, but rather by noise on the power. An isolating, conditioning power strip solved this issue.
Since these non-issues, however, the performance of my Scarlett 6i6 has been stellar. The preamps have a somewhat neutral tone, ranging on warm, the outputs are clean and linear, and the software compatibility has been top-notch. On MacOS, performance has been even better as I had to change no settings in able to get similar performance and overall integration into the operating system has been tighter and more inclusive.
I cannot emphasize enough that I consider this and the entire Scarlett line to be the best solution for any musician, voice actor, or recordist who is just starting out.
