Fogged Inn is the fourth book in the Maine Clambake Mysteries and is the best one yet! Winter finds Julia Snowden and her boyfriend Chris running Gus Too's restaurant two evenings a week and settling into their new relationship. The clambake business is non-operational in winter months so they're trying to make a go of another business. In order to promote business, Julia sold gift certificates for the holiday season and the book begins after the holidays are over. Four couples who seemingly have nothing in common except they all received gift certificates for Christmas arrive on the same cold evening. They are the only diners except for a lone man who eats at the bar while they are dining. This man ends up in the deep freeze under very suspicious circumstances, resulting in a homicide cause of death. Since the homicide causes closure of both Gus and Gus Too restaurants, Julia once again tries to assist the authorities in closing the case quickly. I didn't guess the murderer until the very end of the book and the mystery itself was very satisfying. My favorite part of the book was the interaction of the various characters involved in the murder investigation. If you're a cozy mystery fan, I highly recommend this great series.
Even though I had pre-ordered the book, I was furnished an advance copy of this book by the author and publisher in exchange for a honest review. The opinions and recommendations are based on my opinion.
