Last year I bought the Fold Your Own Zombie Calendar. At the beginning of each month I got to build a paper zombie, each more clever than the last. I'm so sad that my year of zombies is over but excited that I can begin a year of robots. If you like building things, this is the calendar for you.

I got this for my girlfriend after she saw a coworker with it and said she'd really like it. I thought it might be a frivolous desire, but she really really had fun making the robots. We took a five hour train ride and she spent several hours making robots with just a bottle of glue, a wood stick, and this calendar. I haven't seen her have so much fun with a "toy" for a long time. The robots really are neat, and designed with a surprising level of creativity. Several of them animate in some way. My favorite one transforms into a briefcase. This thing really is ridiculously fun, even for me and my girlfriend, supposed "adults."

This calendar was so much fun. Some of the directions aren't exactly clear but they're easy enough to figure out. I really enjoyed making a new robot each month and now I can't wait to get a 2013 one!

Love this calendar. Super fun. I love robots ....and distractions from real work so....its nice to have a little non-work project at the start of each month :-) And I got it for a co-workers son who really loves robots too and he thought it was great. Made me a construction paper robot with a thank you note in it...pretty awesome. Hope they come out with one in 2013!!
