Great stand, but cover the back rest circle to avoid discoloration to the instrument

I like the functionality of this stand - it’s the second one I bought like this. The first one made a round light mark discoloration on the back of a new guitar - disappointing, but it doesn’t bother us that much. But it’s something you definitely need to know if you have a prized instrument that you don’t want to develop a round circle discoloration on the back. After reading reviews, I cut a small round piece of black felt fabric the size of the circle that touches the guitar, attached it to the stand circle with painter’s tape (to avoid gummy tape residue), and so far the felt has protected my new banjo. It doesn’t affect how it is secured on the stand because the bottom holders do most of the work to hold the instrument in place. The bottom holders have not discolored the guitar or banjo.

These Stands Deliver

What's not to like about this instrument stand? Light weight, but solid and sturdy ... folds up very compact, easy to drop in a gig bag for transport ... highly adjustable; the legs and back telescope in or out depending on the instrument's size and weight ... all contact points are instrument friendly and will not harm the finish. I bought three of these to use with smaller instruments. The ability to adjust the stand is the key to this application because each instrument requires different settings. Currently, I use them for mandolin, tenor guitar and open back banjo. I own other high quality conventional type stands but especially for mandolin and the open back banjo, none of those work. With the Nordic Essentials stand, I can adjust the back to make the perfect contact for any instrument and I can extend the back part of the legs for all the stability I need.

When I was evaluating the specs for stands before purchase, this was the only stand that seemed to cover all the bases. Now that I have them in hand, I'd say that they have exceeded my expectations. The design is well thought out by folks who obviously understand musical instruments and the special needs for those which are smaller or perhaps configured differently (like open back banjo). I've seen other adjustable stands before that were either flimsy or clumsy, but the Nordic Essentials stand could not be easier to adjust and each setting is solid and sturdy. No screws to tighten. No annoying clips or need for any tools.

At first, I thought these stands were a little too expensive, but now that I've seen them in action, I have no regrets. My only "problem" is I will probably want a couple more of these just to keep in a gig bag ready to go. :)

In the music world, where there are many choices and various levels of quality, it's nice to find a product that really delivers.

Great reliable stand

Very well made. Very sturdy. Holds my dreadnaught guitar very nicely. Not only reliably supports my guitar, it also creates a very nice presentation of the guitar in my living room. Also ridiculously portable. Folds into a small package that will fit pretty much any gig bag. Cost a little more than some, but as the old adage says....”You get what you pay for”.

Brief follow up: Liked this stand so much I just bought another. Just purchased a new guitar. Of course I needed a good way of keeping it w/in reach. Of the five stands I have, easily the best quality materials and the engineering is really quite clever. Easy to use and very sturdy! I don't think you will be disappointed if you choose this stand.

Sturdy for travel & Packable

Pictures- (1&2) the stand is holding a tenor sized Ukulele, unextended. Pictures (2&3) The stand is fully extended, holding a full sized Taylor Guitar.
This is my second traveling stand, and I wish I would have spent the money and purchased it first! I wanted a light weight, inexpensive foldable stand to take to my weekly jam sessions, so I ordered a light plastic stand... BIG MISTAKE. It broke with in 3 weeks. The school of experience has taught me this: When you drop a few hundred dollars for a good guitar, you definitely don't want to trust a cheap flimsy plastic stand. I was very lucky that my guitar wasn't sitting on it when it broke!

Reading all the good reviews on here, I decided to give this one a try. It is sturdy. The back is adjustable when I want to use it for my smaller travel guitar and ukelele. I don't think I would use this stand at home, as I have 2 older heavier stands that I rely on, but it has done well in the past 2 weeks. Will update and post pics as well.

I don't get all the stars. The fold out angle is extremely narrow. You can't lock it in place, either, Lightweight and portable, yes but it's also not as stable as my other heavier A stands. I'm not sure I'd trust this thing unconditionally. Took it out of the package, stood a solid body electric guitar on it, took it on and off a few times: decided to keep it, but I think the only use it's going to get is when I leave the house and need a stand that can be easily packed. And actually, it's a little pricey for just that. Here at home, with pets and people walking around I think I'm going to stick with the more traditional A frame metal stands or the ones with a neck support.

I am a music teacher. This stand is fabulous. I love everything about it. Yes, like it states it is very very light weight but very strong and well made. I use it on a uke and it is fantastic. It will work on all the instruments listed perfectly. I put guitars all sizes and it is sturdy. It pulls arms toward the back that can give a heavy instrument more support so it will not rock or wobble. I think that the price is well worth it. Stands are usually so heavy but this one is light. Don't be deceived. Light does not mean unreliable or cheap. This one is a keeper. Maybe its space age technology but having the sturdy with the light is just a great thing.

Really, really disappointing

A guitar stand to place my bass on at practise. First time out it was so difficult to extend the telescopic legs-so much so that I had to tug hard on one leg and it came apart. I couldn't fit it back without unscrewing a small screw and a tiny black ball popped out and rolled away. The whole thing is now useless....one leg is tough to extend and the other will now no longer hold when extended. It shouldn't have been so tough to extend leaving me no choice but to undo the screw so I could re-attach the fitting. It's been a monumental failure and I don't expect help on this despite it not being fit for purpose. I had such high hopes for a lightweight piece of kit that promised much but ended up as expensive trash :-(

Great bit of kit

Finally a decent stand that holds my acoustic in a way that doesn't make it nearly fall over every time there's a slight draft. I have 3 other A-Frame stands which are all fine for electrics. The one I previously had for my acoustic claimed to be fit for purpose and is simply not. As a result of this, my poor yammy has hit the deck already :(

I've only just set this little beauty up and immediately the quality shines through. My acoustic sits on the plastic rubbery leg things, those little upward pointing knobbly bits are just right. There is some adjustment in the legs etc but if I'm honest, I just pull it all out as far as it will go in the hopes that will be the most stable. I also tried an epiphone les paul which sits in there just as nicely. The angle fairly straight, though stable and solid. I think I prefer this than too much angle, especially as a lot of places are space constrained.

I did get this on a lightning deal and wouldn't really want to pay more than 25 sheets but for that price, it outclasses all my other A-frame stands and the foldaway design seems much more sensible than the others I have. You even get a little cloth baggy for it.

Overall, I would say this has probably been designed by someone who actually plays as opposed to some manufacturer that has a moulding press/fabrication works and has only ever seen pictures of guitars on their stands. Good job and a very happy customer, I definitely recommend, especially if you have an A-frame and acoustic that slides about in a very unstable manner like the ashton that should really be in the bin!

It took quite a bit of pressure to push the grippers along it, to reduce the holding area to it's minimum depth, in order to hold a tenor ukulele - but now that's done it seems stable and sturdy. It is good for a tenor ukulele (8.3cm depth or more) but a bit big for a smaller one.

Nordic tell me this relates to quailty and guarantee etc. Well, I have both and will likely buy several others. No prizes, however, for guessing from which vendor.
