I have never before experienced a brittle zip tie.
I am now out 16 bucks plus tax and shipping and I have two broken zip tie things and a threaded rod.
Here is my original review, "Okay guys, what do you expect? It affordable and it works well. Sure you can wrap a zip tie around your lens a tape a pencil on it and accomplish the same thing. But for no more than this costs it looks a lot better. And there are situations when something very simple works the best."
Now it is not an expensive item, but your money would be better spent on lunch. I wish I could get my money back but I can't find all the pieces.
It's one of those simple but genius things that you wish you would have invented . It's a tie strap with a metal rod at the end ! yeah , that's what it is . It adds some leverage to a tight zoom ring like what i have on my tamron 17-50 .
What's not shown in the advertisement pics is the other end of the strap where it joins both ends. it pokes out and can brush up on your rig depending on the circumference of your lens, makes it a little awkward. If you have to use it without a rig , you'll just scratch yourself .
As has been observed elsewhere, it's basically a zip-tie with a socket, and a knurled handle that screws into it, so the price seems a little high (why four stars rather than five), but otherwise it does the job.
I wish it did work. It would easily be worth the money. Now I'm just $17.00 poorer.
The zipties are reusable and once you trim the excess off they look like they belong there. Really makes a huge difference when focusing my Blackmagic Pocket camera, I'll be buying another kit to use as a zoom controller as well
If you're shooting video and don't want to plop down big bucks for a proper follow focus (or are run-n-gunning with a BMPCC or small DSLR rig without rails to mount a follow focus on) I can't really see a reason to not buy this.

its ok, I left the clutch on the lens, to use without the screw on pole, it feels much more natural.Published 5 months ago by David Sepulveda/San Antonio TX
These have been very helpful in focusing without having to hunt with my hands for the ring. It is a glorified zip-tie with a handle. But does its job.Published 8 months ago by Paul Konopacki
I wouldn't buy this again. After messing with this for a day I ordered something else that I like much better because it works much better, is easier to put on and take off, and... Read morePublished 13 months ago by shnonphoto
It's cheap and quick if you need something in a bind.
Not my go to solution, but something very handy to keep in the bag o' tricks.
why pay ton of money that work worse than this? for the gears? for more parts to fail? are you kiddingPublished 18 months ago by Sarah
This works so damned good I just logged in to buy a few more sets. A lot easier to use than riggs if all you need to control focus and zoom.Published 18 months ago by A. Rosner
Not the best product for Panasonic lenses. It works fine for the zoom ring but it pinches the focus ring too tight so that it will not rotate. Read morePublished 18 months ago by aqua123
