The three MC’s couldn’t be more different from each other. Peter, the ER doctor, Christian, the hit man, and Victor, the lawyer. An unlikely threesome but the author made it work. There is absolutely no jealousy and the three men talk about everything in a very mature way. The connection between Peter and Christian was palpable, even as Peter is Christian’s attending doctor. There is that elusive magnetic pull between the two men. Christian is a mysterious man and slowly but surely we learn more about him. Peter has to learn to come to terms with Christian being a hired killer but when he does he goes all in.
I was not sure how Victor could fit in their relationship but he did. Peter and Victor have their own connection on a totally different level but just as strong. Together they make Christian more loved and cherished than anything. He finds his way home.
It is a suspenseful story with some twists and turns and just as you think you know the whole story the author writes the epilogue. There is more to come. I definitely am looking forward to reading the second book in the series.
This was an interesting, jaw dropping, nail biting worth story and not your average triads story. The story will intrigue you right from the start. P.W. Davies has a unique way of writing and that uniqueness can be seen in this book. It’s a really well written book with its own style. This book will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. It will constantly keep you on your toes with lots of twist and turns, but at the same time will make your panties wet with the way the triads share their passion for one another. Great plot, well developed characters, the most important thing is the evolution of their relationship between the three. It was written beautifully. This book will captivate you from start to finish.
Dr. Peter Dawes life changes unexpectedly when a mysterious man walks into the Emergency room of the hospital he works at.There is instant pull and he’s drawn to the enigma, that’s his patient, Christian, and agrees to go on a date. The more time he spends with his former patient, the curious Peter gets about Christian’s life, his past and what is doing with a man who’s known as a Hitman. Their work is complete opposite, one saves and the other kills. Peter wonders if he should take a step away from all this secrecy and just focus on finding a new job with better paycheck. Just as he’s about to make a decision he’s introduced to Christian's other lover, the more refined, the charming , the calm Victor, who’s a lawyer. Victor provides a counter-balance to Christian's emotive intensity and adds another incentive in making a decision to stay.
This is a romantic suspense story with lots of drama, actions, sizzling HOT chemistry and passion between the three triads. The sex scenes are just scorching HOT. If you thought two men together was HOT, then think of three men together. It’ll be nuclear bomb explosion experience. The best past about this book is the epilogue, it’ll have you wondering what’s next and there definitely is more to come and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this author in M/M genre.
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book provided by the author”.
So we have a Doctor Poet, a Hitman and an Corporate Lawyer. It sounds like a bad joke, and partially it is. Christian isn't a likable character, nor is he completely dynamic. He remains a mystery until the end and Peter seems disturbingly content with this. Victor, there is no help for, whatsoever, but I was hoping Peter would come to his senses.
I found so much wrong with the nonverbal communication tool that is overused in this story. Everything meaningful is said with a look, or the eyes and it's done in italics, whhoooo, italics! Maybe Davies, feels that by not speaking the message is more powerful, but I feel more like it was an excuse to remain mysterious. It wasn't helpful, you have three men who barely understand each other trying to save the one who put the other two in mortal peril and everything is said with the eyes? Be realistic.
And the epilogue was absolute waste. Nevermind in all that useless suspense building, it failed to be consistent. That was the worst cliff hanger ever. I don't even care that it is one. I care that it was done poorly.
