It sounds silly but he has also taught me a technique for cooking omelette - this morning I had a feta, tomato, rosemary and parmesan omlette. Was it in the book? Nope, but he has taught me the technique.
I've got a whole heap of cookbooks. Too many really. But many cookbook writers are amateurs. Neil Perry has spent a lifetime making brilliant food at the highest levels. And yet his genius is not to be pretentious or over complicated when cooking at home or teaching others to do so.
I used to think Perry was a prat with a ponytail. Now he is my western cooking god.

Since first writing the above review, I have discovered that the Kindle version I had is not the same version as the hardcopy I had (2016), even though it has the same artwork. There are several recipes missing in the KIndle viersion and many of the entries are incomplete, missing variations, accompaniments etc..I assume the missing stuff is in the extra ebooks you are invited to buy! Sorting out this mess is not my problem, but I would even more emphatically not recommend the Kindle version to anyone until Murdoch Books gets its act together.
Sure the dust cover was marked but the book was in very good condition. I would not hesitate to buy from the marked down section again, but I have also got many books at good prices from the main section.
Well done Amazon....many thanks.
IainM.
However, when we took a closer look, we realized that the book that was delivered to us was shoddily printed. I suspect that the book that I got was not an original. It also lacked the copyright page that you usually find in most books. If you look at the back cover of the book where the ISBN barcode is printed, you'll notice that the resolution of the print is not very high, almost as if the cover was printed from a scanned picture.
