FoodSaver Bottle Stoppers
Great for Wines, Oils, and Vinegars
With this set of three bottle stoppers by the FoodSaver brand, you can keep the libations flowing without having to worry about partially opened bottles going to waste at the end of the night. Designed to fit most standard bottles, the bottle stoppers replace corks for a tight seal, with the added benefit of creating an airtight vacuum seal when used with a FoodSaver vacuum sealing system (machine not included).
From bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and other sensational reds to white wine varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio, the bottle stoppers keep wine fresh and flavorful. Dining solo? The stoppers extend the quality of that open bottle so you can enjoy a glass with dinner throughout the week.
In addition to preserving opened bottles of wine, the bottle stoppers also come in handy for vacuum sealing bottles of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, homemade infusions, and other kitchen essentials. The stoppers seal out air, keeping contents fresh and tasting their best.
Vacuum Sealing Made Simple
To vacuum seal, simply insert the narrow end of the bottle stopper into the open bottle. Raised, vertical edges make the stoppers easy to grip. Next, connect the hose from a FoodSaver vacuum sealing system, and let the machine take it from there. The vacuum sealer will automatically remove all the air inside the bottle to create a stay-fresh, airtight seal.
Made of durable, BPA-free, polycarbonate plastic, the bottle stoppers are both stain resistant and odor proof for reliable performance from one use to the next. The stoppers clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.
Keeps Food Fresh up to 5x Longer -- Save up to $2700 a Year

Top Customer Reviews
We enjoy wine with out dinner several times a week. One of the problems we have had is that the wine left in the bottle often turned to vinegar before we finished it. Using the FoodSaver bottle stoppers has changed that. Wines stay good for two months, either in the refrigerator or pantry. Yes, I have tried a red for that long and compared it with a freshly opened one from my wine keeper. We have shifted to the 1.5 liter bottles of everyday chardonnay from the .75-liter. This alone will save us over $50 a year.
Oils are another use of the bottle stoppers. Whether you realize it or not, oils start to turn after about six months of being opened (3 months for nut oils such as walnut). Although we buy small containers of oil, they normally last well beyond their shelf life except for the olive oil. Consequently, we use the bottle stoppers for the other oils including the peanut, walnut, canola, truffle-infused, chili and sesame oils. (Remember to keep the sesame oil in the refrigerator, even with the bottle stopper.)
If you like wine or cook with a variety of oils these little jewels will pay for themselves in short order.
My only complaint? The product...and the shipping...is cheaper direct from Foodsaver.com. While I know the mention of price and alternate provider is not really permitted per the review guidelines, I still think it's important to say, even if the only person who sees it is the person who reviews this comment...
1. Allows me to keep an opened bottle of Brunello in the house for three days without a lose of the wine's character
2. Small size means it is easy to store
3. Easy to clean by hand and is dishwasher safe (plastic has not been stained by the red wine in 2 years of use)
4. Definitely seals the bottles, since I return them to my glass front wine cellar I would notice if they were to leak
5. Can also be used to seal olive oil or any other bottle
1. Limited usefulness, it would not be the first kitchen gadget on my list
Overall, if you like red wine but never finish a bottle, this is great product to have on hand. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this product first instead of the substandard Vacu-Vin product that allowed the wine to leak out of the bottle and into my wine cellar when I tried to store opened "sealed" bottles on their side.
I usually have two or three bottles open at time and I obviously can't drink them fast enough before they go bad. These stoppers are a lifesaver! They do not come with an accessory hose, so if you do not have one, you will need to purchase one.
I highly recommed these to everyone with a FoodSaver.
The trick is that you need to remove the hose IMMEDIATELY after the machine stops pumping -if not before. The vacuum level starts to drop quite rapidly and if you don't pull the hose it drops too far to keep a good seal. Also, you need to break them in as the first few times you use them they sometimes don't keep a seal very well. The more they are used the better they get.
The only downside of these are the difficulty in cleaning sometimes. They don't respond well to being dishwasher washed. The warm water tends to make the rubber expand and then the little ball inside pops out and gets lost in the guts of the machine. If it gets sucked into the macerator assembly you are in big trouble -it could ruin your dishwasher.
Hand washing is a pain -especially if you are using these to keep oil fresh. Olive and other oils tends to build up and really stain the rubber and stick to it. It's almost impossible to get off without really hot water and that tends to cause the ball to pop out too. Blah! But I only have this issue with salad oils like Olive, Canola, and Peanut. With wine or other bottled liquids I've never had a problem.
It is nice that the price has come down on these as they get expensive. I've got 9 of them and often run out as they are all in use sometimes. I should get another 3-pack one of these days.
