Would I ReRead This Book? ABSOLUTELY!
Would I Read Future Books? ABSOLUTELY!
I adored the characters in this book and remembered how much I loved Marie Force's work!! It's been awhile since I read her work and I sorely missed her. Sigh. The characters are so lovable, realistic, and believable. They are so down to earth. The characters from previous books carry over like old friends. It was wonderful to see Maddie, Mac, and Thomas so happy. And Linda and Big Mac doing so well.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, plot and wedding!!
The opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Marie, you rock!!
Mac and Janey have always been close. There was a very funny glimpse of their sibling affections in book 1 when Mac needed Janey to go to the store to get condoms. Normally that would actually come off as a little bit weird but when you live on an island and everyone knows your business you’ve got to learn how to divide and conquer. Suffice it to say, I liked Janey before I ever read her story.
Janey and her fiancé have been together since they were teenagers; she’s been planning her wedding and her own HEA for the longest while. While she’s on the island working as a tech at the only Vet clinic on the island, her fiancé is away in Boston going to medical school. The plan is to finish his internship and fellowship then come back to the island to practice. While he’s away, Janey’s lives on the island, quite happily. Being the good person that she is, Janey decided to go to Boston on their anniversary. It’s a surprise visit. Turns out that Janey is the one who gets the surprise, she walks in on the fiancé getting his groove on with someone else. Running like a bat outta you know where, Janey books it back to the island but before she can get there her POS car breaks down. Not wanting to call her family, she calls Joe.
Joe’s been a staple in the McCarthy’s home since Janey can remember, he’s also Mac’s best friend. What we, the audience, know from book 1 is that Joe’s always been in love with Janey, always. And he’ll do anything for her even if it’s go pick her up after a disastrous night with her fiancé. Taking her back to his place for the night Janey and Joe have sex. For this reader that was way too quick; actually just no because now the credibility of them being together is shaky.
I liked Janey less in this than I did book 1. She came off as flighty, which doesn’t even make sense because of her long standing relationship with her fiancé but with Joe she was quick to change her mind. I still don’t know why she needed to have sex with Joe the same night that she found the fiancé having his fling. That didn’t make sense even though I actually saw it coming. Then there’s Joe who came off as weak, giving in to Janey’s request when he knows it’s the wrong thing to do. How is that helping her? That sex scene only came off as being gratuitous. Everything after that just came off as hurried and flat.
The pace of this was decent but because I didn’t like the direction of the story I found myself skimming paragraphs and just wanting to be done. I doubt I’ll continue with this series because the first 2 in the series didn’t exceed my expectations.
Happy reading folks!

I hate breakup scenes in books. I especially hate them when they're because the main characters don't TALK to one another. I hated that part of this book.
I also hated how Mac acted, like everything should have been cleared by him first. He's still one of the most annoying main characters I've read and now, as a supporting character, he's JUST AS BAD.
