I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Here in this story we meet Aubry and Quinn's characters.
Aubry is sassy, tattooed gamer girl who doesn't like people too much and only has one friend. Her friend Jules. She's extremely anti social, to the point where she has panic attacks around big crowds. I thought it was a tad odd to have a tattooed gamer chic be anti social but wth.
Quinn comes from money but left that life behind him and is now a cowboy on a ranch because he couldn't stand the lifestyle or snobby people that having a rich family comes with.
Aubry and Quinn are like oil and water. They both rub each other the wrong way, and neither one can stand the other one. So imagine the dilemma when they both have a problem that only the other one can help with.
Quinn needs a date for his sister's wedding so his father will quit trying to set him up with the snobby rich girls. Oh, Quinn could get any girl he wanted with his good looks and big ego, but It can't just be any girl. He doesn't wanna take a girl and have her get the wrong idea about the situation and think that there could be something more than just a date. Quinn doesn't want a relationship and he needs someone that wouldn't have a problem accepting that fact. And he needs someone with a tough skin that can handle all the comments that will be coming from his family. So when he tells his dilemma to Jules (who is also Aubry's friend) she gets a wicked idea.
You see Aubry is one of only 10 people who got invited to a gaming convention to beta test a game that's not even gonna be out for another 2 years. Problem is she doesn't do so well in crowds and needs someone to go with her and Jules is tied up. So now what?
Well, Quinn and Aubry reluctantly agree to help each other out. What other choice do they have? But Aubry doesn't fly, which means they're gonna be going on a road trip stuck in Quinn's beat up old truck for the whole trip.
I really enjoyed the story of Quinn and Aubry's sexual attraction with each other and when they finally got together it was a wild ride from then on out. Their whole story draws you in and keeps you wanting more til the very end. If anything, I wished there was more to read and didn't want it to end. I can't wait to read the other 2 stories in this series!
I loved this story especially Aubry's snarky comments and Quinn's come backs at her. The author has a writing style that makes this book easy to enjoy, light and funny.
The characters are well written and I feel like I get to know them well throughout the story.
The love scenes was great and a perfect amount of them, not to many and not to few.
If you like a story with fun, hot scenes and some seriousness this is perfect.
