I'm going to take this book into the voting booth with me. I had stopped laughing at politics until I read Fools and Knaves, which a friend recommended to me. I don't know if I've ever read any political satire that's as funny as this. I'm passing it on to all my friends.

I didn't think it could be possible to make the 2012 Presidential race any funnier, but FOOLS AND KNAVES gets the job done. The candidate's regard for Jesus-based governance, a new national anthem and trivia questions for TSA screeners finally brings attention to the most important issues of the day. I was also gratified to see the theory of Idiot Design, also known as Unintelligent Design, finally get some attention. We have to teach the controversy. Read it! FOOLS AND KNAVES is a big improvement on reality.

I did think the Republican primary season (Send in the Clowns!) was pretty funny, but this book gets under the surface about why a lot of what politicians do and say doesn't make much sense. And it cracked me up how funny it is. The characters reminded me of some of the real candidates, but they were also good fictional individuals, and the stuff about candidate Johnson and his family were also a great part of the book. It was all absurd, and good satire -- I'm really into politics, so this worked great for me.

This guy has a witty and wicked perspective on the upcoming presidential campaigns...all filtered through the eye of a Huff Post comedy writer. At 99 cents, one of the best, most cost-efficient laugh generators around!

Fools and Knaves is political satire of the highest order. Reading it, I laughed often and deeply. It's a wild, ironic, sometimes-disturbingly-evocative tale of current U.S. politics and the 2012 Presidential race. The plot has sharp and unexpected twists. The characters are bizarre yet sorta familiar. The author has a keen wit and a superb gift for irony. A Terrific Read

Steven Clifford's "Fools and Knaves" continues the great tradition of 18th-century satire. Like Swift, who invented the almost-plausible Lemuel Gulliver, and like Defoe, who fooled most of his readers into thinking that there really was a Robinson Crusoe, Clifford has created a counterfeit--in this case a politician not much stranger than some who have been taken seriously by Fox News. At a time when rational people find little or no comfort in an irrational political system, Clifford's zany send-up offers the necessary palliative of laughter.
