The big foot free motion quilting is the best way to do free motion quilting. The large clear opening makes following a design much easier than with feet I've used in the past. It fits my Pfaff 1209 (an old model) quite nicely. I can go from "stitch on the ditch" quilting to free motion quilting in moment. Love this foot.

This is a great idea, but when I tried to free motion with it, there is not enough downward pressure so the thread tension was terrible. I manipulated my machine tension to no avail. I have been free motion quilting for some time so I was not inexperienced.

i really wanted to like this foot. It fit well on my high shank PQ1500 but alas the plastic the foot is made of will not last. I have used it for some free motion quilting on place mats for my dinner table. After about a month of use, the up and down motion will eventually weaken the round bottom of the foot as it touches your fabric. It will crack and break off.
Of course it happened right in the middle of a project.....luckily I had a low shank Baby Lock OEM quilting foot with my Ellure. It is all metal and has held up superbly over many years.
