One of my favorite subjects of the book was Dr. Misslers exploration of the lineage of Yeshua in Matthew 1 and Luke 3. He showed how the supposed "mistakes" in Matthew 1 were nothing of the sort.
Further strengthening Dr. Missler's case is a wonderful prophecy given to Zerubbabel, the grandson of the cursed king Jehoiachin. In this passage YHWH promises that Zerubbabel will bring forth the Headstone, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith YHWH..." As Dr. Missler showed Matthew 1 gives us Yeshua's lineage through Joseph the legal father of the Messiah thus fulfilling this prophecy of Zechariah.
Zechariah 4:6-7 6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of YHWH unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith YHWH of hosts. 7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
It's also amazing to note that if the Old Testament names from Abraham all the way back to YHWH (at creation) are added into Matthew 1, there are 66 names. If the same is done for the Luke 3 and the lineage of Yeshua through Mary; there are 77 names.
Dr. Missler makes a wonderful statement in Chapter 11. I quote:
"The more we study it, the more we discover that every detail, every place name and every punctuation mark in this incredible work is a package of messages deliberately designed to tell the same story of salvation for a fallen race. The same God reigns from beginning to end, and His Son is found on every page."
I couldn't agree more with this wonderful insight. To further prove this point the lineage of Matthew 1 is a virtual treasure house of symbolism.
Matthew 1 purports to be 3 sets of 14 generations, yet when counted out Yeshua is only the 13th generation in the 3rd column. Upon his resurrection he became the 14th generation and completed the list.
The 3 missing kings in the 2nd column come between the 6th & 7th generation.(6+7=13)
The final missing king (Jehoiakim) falls between the 13th & 14th generation. Interestingly it was during the reign of Jehoiakim that the future prophet Daniel was taken captive.
Dr. Missler talked about the wonderful symbolism of the name meanings in Genesis. A similar example can be found in the lists of priestly courses. Based upon priestly service of Zacharias in Luke 1 it tells us Yeshua was born in the 7th month during the 13th or 14th course. Those courses were named Huppah (Canopy) and Jeshebeab (Dwelling of the Father).
"...and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matt. 1:23
Further adding to this symbolism is Isaac, a symbol of Yeshua. Isaac was to be offered as a "burnt" offering, the "burnt" offerings during the Feast of Tabernacles (during the 7th month) being arranged in multiples of 13/14.
Even Paul gives us a glimpse of this symbolism in Eph. 2:13-14 were he talks about Yeshua's blood breaking down the "middle wall of partition" between Jews and Gentiles. It's fascinating to note that this wall during the life of Yeshua was accessed by 14 steps and entry to the temple was granted by one of 13 gates.
And of course the very lunar cycle itself, which for thousands of years has been the means by which the Biblical calendar is calculated, shows there are 13 or 14 days of waxing light every month followed by 13 or 14 days of waning light.
I must say that if you love to search the Scriptures for the treasure YHWH has left for us, treasures which show that Yeshua is the Messiah promised in the Scriptures then you will love Dr. Missler's book Footprints of the Messiah.

Dr. Missler closed his book with a challenge to his readers. I would like to close this review with a Berean's challenge to Dr. Missler. Can you prove with reasonable Biblical evidence your belief that Artaxerxes Longimanus was the contemporary of Ezra and Nehemiah? Someday I would love to read your thoughts on the subject.
The author obviously has a deep understanding of his work. Add this to a gift of being able to transfer his thoughts to the reader and you have a real treat waiting for you.
I have a habit of underlining what I feel are important statements in a book. I don't know why I didn't just underline the whole thing. Great read.
We Praise God and thank you Chuck for your service to the Kingdom,
Greg & Tammy Malcolm
One can clearly see that God has given Chuck deep insights only found by those who truly seek and find, and then share it with other
believers in a way that is easy to understand. God Bless this man who is clearly dedicated, and in love with the mighty God
of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! And our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ.
