Taking as his maxim 'The Golden Rule of Interpretation' Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum uses the plain sense of Scripture, when it makes common sense, in other words, every word at its literal meaning, unless there is clear indication otherwise.
Specifically this book of 23 chapters, 11 appendices (in the updated version) and hundreds of Scripture references from 60 of the Bible's 66 books, is a study of eschatology - the study of the last days. Revelation, the key book of this exegesis, is said to contain over 500 references to the Old Testament.
Chapters 1 - 3 lay the foundation for what is to come and include an overview of the Book of Revelation. Chapters 4 - 7 look at the sequence of pretribulational events, including the Rapture. The events of the Great Tribulation are the key focus of Chapters 8 -14, culminating in the Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah. The 75 day interval after Armageddon, and the setting up of the Messianic Kingdom, are discussed in Chapter 15. The final chapters are a study of the Messianic Kingdom and the Eternal Order. The Appendices and Bible index offer a wealth of further material for research and meditation.
Scripturally referenced at every step, God's prophetic Word for Israel, the Church and the Gentiles, is unfolded with depth, clarity and sound Biblical reasoning.
Quite simply, this is the best book I have read on this subject, rekindling the Christian hope and expectation of the imminent return of our Lord and Saviour.
However, if you can overlook what is essentially a new position on how the millenial kingdom will operate, the book overall does a great job of diving into the details of prophetic happenings on our new horizon.
I gave this book 4 stars due to its non-traditional treatment of the millenial kingdom, but it still makes an excellent resource for the serious prophecy student.
The book is beautifully printed on high quality paper using highly readable type. The charts are superior to any other end times charts that I've seen; very clear and understandable.
