A young, pretty, naïve woman in Paris. What could go wrong?
This is the issue with Cindy Hastings. While ending her marriage to a selfish gambling addict, she finds herself drawn to a handsome, charming singer. How can a woman know when a man is reliable and to be trusted? How can she be sure she isn’t making another terrible mistake?
One of the things I like best about this novel is that the author portrays Cindy’s emotional growth and maturation as she struggles to pierce the veils of falsehood and see reality clearly. In a way this is what most of us endeavor to do. During Cindy’s development, we learn to care deeply about her and wish her the best. We hope she will learn from her mistakes and not blunder into yet another disaster, perhaps one so bad it will destroy her life.
Along the way we meet a new boyfriend and the deadly, criminal underworld of Paris. Plus, we are given sensuous love scenes and a fascinating tour of some of Paris’ most historic and beautiful sites. All in all, this is a visit well worth making.
It’s an atmospheric piece: Shimmering waves soothed the dark and sandy beach as couples walked in the moonlight with shoes in hand. Nice, clean descriptions are Ms. Ainsworthe’s forte.
Need to get away for a few hours for a bit of romance and intrigue? Forbidden Footsteps is cheaper than a plane ticket! Hop on board this five-star read.
kept me on my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the plot. And I Especially loved the story lines of Cindy with Jean-Claude and his dad. And Cindy with Stuart and Taylor and Larry and Joe, Frederie and of course Amelia, and naturally I could not stand Clive the cad as I would like to call him. And you can tell Jean- Claude was also a cad. I loved the way it ended..Cynthia it is a wonderful book and very well written. And know I am looking forward to reading your next book 4 "DANGEROUS REACH: as soon as it is available !!!!
