I don't believe it was geared for upper high school or college age, but it will really appeal to this group too. I am going to buy a copy for my college aged neice. My copy is going back to its place of honor in my bookcase of number one favorites.
If you liked this book here are a few of my other favorites. 1. The Tea Rose (Trilogy) by: Jennifer Donnelly
2. Revolution (JD same author) and try 3. Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati (entire series great) and a book ( books 1 -3 are morehistorical romance) But great books I've read more very similar to FORBIDDEN FRUIT are called 4. "The rich shall inherit" by Elizabeth Adler (main female's name is Poppy)....and finally another similar to Forbidden Fruit is an older book from the 1980s repub in 2007 called 5. LACE by Shirley Conran ( there is a Lace 2 as well) the main story re: 4 women are called to NY Pierre Hotel to meet Lili- a beautiful CA movie star....from Paris to London. I hope this helps!!!!
As it turns out, the lives of these three persons cross in dramatic and even painful fashion over the course of several years. Their earlier memories and experiences will have consequences – some tragic. The book is not without a certain amount of sensuality as both Hope and Glory are astounding beauties; however, in some respects the interactions and emotions among these characters are a bit overdone. However, the characters are strong enough for the reader to care about their outcomes.
