I bought all four of these 2 on 1 CD's from Scamp years ago when they first came out. They're all excellent.I love this one particularly for the extensive use of exotic musical instruments from every corner of the globe. These two albums are primarily led by the mallet percussion instruments with very little piano. The birdcalls are excellent;"Goony Birds"is one of the best songs.Every song is good. The melodies are beautiful and complex. The arrangements for this small group, featuring such exotic instrumentation, are brilliant. This group uses gongs, tam tams, drums, birdcalls, whistles, bells, bowls, japanese samisen(a stringed instrument)and much more with such artistry not heard since Spike Jones! This is truly what should be called "Exotica".

My Dad played this as an LP when I was a kid in the 60's every Sunday morning. To find this now, is a trip to the past when times were easier, it seems. My Dad is gone now, but I can so easily recall him when I listen to this classic that I laughed out-loud the first time I heard this as a CD and remembered the good times and how much I love and miss him.

The music is exotic and takes the listener to a calm, peaceful, state of mind. The best!

Having several of Martin Denny's releases, I can tell you this - I will be getting more as they become available.

As a fan of exotica, Martin Denny is one of the greats of the genre. And having two albums on one release is a bonus! There isn't a bad cut on the entire CD.

If you are a fan of exotica, this is, of course, a must have. If you are just starting to gather exotica music, get this - you will wind up with it eventually. You will not regret it.

Doesn't get much better to listen to Mr. Denny whilst sipping my Mai Tai. Glad I finally got this on CD.

ANOTHER MARTIN DENNY TWO-FER CD, TWO ALBUMS TOGETHER. IF YOU ARE INTO "EXOTICA" MUSIC, THEN YOU WILL ENJOY ALL OF THE MARTIN DENNY ALBUMS FROM THE 1950'S, THEY EMPLOY A LOT OF PERCUSSION, CHANTING, CHIMES, DIFFERENT TYPES OF INSTRUMENTATION, AND DIFFERENT SOUNDING TYPES OF MELODIES.
