FINAL DECISION: This plot was too crazy for me. The characters barely spent any time together before they were madly in love and the entire plot of Sara being in love with her twin's fiance was not pleasant even though it worked out.

THE STORY: Sara Hamille, a model, comes to England after the death of her mother and stepfather. When people keep mistaking her for someone else, Sara discovers that she has a twin she never knew about. One of the people who keeps mistaking her for her twin is Dominic Thorne who mistakes Sara for his fiance. Sara discovers that the man she has fallen for belongs to her newly found sister.

OPINION: This plot is just insane. Unknown twins, lies, deceptions, and secrets all pervade this story. This book is so based on secrets and lies that I didn't ever feel any connection with the characters. There are so many crazy situations that the characters are manipulated throughout the story. Then the resolution occurs so quickly that these characters never felt like they had anything real. This is instant attraction, instant lust, instant love. I couldn't really understand what Sara and Dominic had between them -- especially because Dominic spends most of the book engaged to Sara's twin sister.

WORTH MENTIONING: This book was originally published as a category romance in the early 1980s.

CONNECTED BOOKS: FORBIDDEN SURRENDER is a standalone.

STAR RATING: I give this book 2 stars.

I have liked some of Carole Mortimer's other books but thought that this one was mediocre. I felt the hero Dominic jerked Sara, the heroine around. He wanted to have sex with her but was not willing to break off his engagement to another woman. I don't care how noble he thought his reason was, it was wrong. Also his reason was contrived and lame. He never explains his reasoning to her. At the end of the book someone else does and she has to go to him as opposed to the other way around. I did not believe in the HEA.

I was not an avid reader until my sister have me my first Harliquen romance novel entitled "SOMEWHERE TO LAY MY HEAD " I was hooked. However, my first Carole Mortimer book I read was "SATAN'S MASTER" and it was AMAZING, but when I read "FORBIDDEN SURRENDER" I WAS A TRUE CAROL MORTIMER FAN. I LOST THE BOOK ALONG WITH A FEW OTHERS AND THEN I SEARCHED ONLINE AND WHEN I SAW THIS BOOK ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHERS I WAS THRILLED AND HURRIED UP AND PURCHASED THEM. I read this book and it brought back my H.S. book and swap club. In H.S. several of my girlfriends and I read and swapped books. Now thinking back we were in a book club before book clubs were popular. CAROL MORTIMER THANK YOU FOR THIS TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE. SARA & DOMINIC'S STORY WAS ADORABLE OVER 30 YEARS AGO AND IT STILL IS TODAY. HAPPY READING!💖💖💖👍👍👍💋💋💋

Sara Hamille has just arrived in England which is her birthplace. Sara was raised in the US but now staying with her Aunt and Uncle after her parents death a few months ago. Sara keeps finding that people think she is someone else. So she ends up finding out she has a twin sister she didn't know about and that her sister is engaged. Dominic Thorne is engaged with her twin sister but she and him keep having a headed attraction that they are having a hard time fighting. We find that there is a secret that they are not telling Sara and this causes an upset when she does find out. I gave it the three stars as I didn't get into Dominic character at all.

Twins but unknown to each other. Mom raised the American twin, dad raised the English twin. Mom and step-dad dies, so the American twin visits the land of her birth.

Meets the British twin's "fiance". Sparks fly but "surrender is forbidden". There is a touch and go surgical procedure but in the end all is well and the right brother ends up with the right sister (x2) :)!
