Review

This is the most comprehensive compilation I've ever seen as it relates to project management. It truly is GOLD! I'm a fast reader, yet I moved slowly through this book and feel like I need to go back and read it again and again. So much GREAT stuff here! Loved the excellent real world examples. You write directly to the heart of the opportunities & challenges of project management and leadership. Many times I found myself thinking, wow, I can use this same concept today in my job! --Kimberly Friedman, Microsoft Corporation

I had to read every word!!! This is such a huge need, I have already promised to several people. Congratulations! --Gwyn Myers, Managing Director, Transition Partners

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I didn't want to put it down because I was so engaged in what I was reading. Your practical, helpful advice and numerous real life references highlight your wealth of experience. I would recommend your book particularly to experienced managers and anyone who wants to move up a notch towards excellence as a PM. --Diana Skiba, PMP, President. D & R Consulting Group Ltd.

Bought this book a few years ago read it once and shelved it. Took it out re-read it after running a couple project and judge what I did right or wrong and should be done differently. I like this book more than PMBOK since it's more practical. It's structured in a way that user can refer to applicable section for each project phase.

Excellent advice and should be required reading for anyone in project management. In the Summer of 2007, I inherited a job requiring the management of 33 young engineers and a $24M budget. Our team had 9 months to manufacture, test and qualify for spaceflight over 45 unique, one-of-a-kind astronaut tools. This book was a great asset in developing the skills necessary to complete this massive undertaking. Our team delivered all of the tools to the Atlantis astronauts on-time and within budget. The tools were instrumental in repairing the Hubble Space Telescope during the extremely-successful STS-125 shutttle mission that just concluded.

Excellently done. The tone of book is exceptional, conversational and clear. The stories are great - short, concise and to the point. There's a little teeny kick in the pants here and there.

You'll see from the big picture all the way down to the details. Chapters, pages and paragraphs are well defined so it's easy to find what you want and need, when you want and need it. The book ends with summaries that are succinct and ready to be used.

This whole book has a Barack Obama and an Eckhart Tolle feel to it. Wow! Well done!
