Grade 5 Up-As this third book in this series begins, Fireheart, former house pet turned warrior cat, continues to be torn between his allegiance to his Thunderclan and his suspicions that Tigerclaw is planning to take over as its leader. When Fireheart gets proof of his deceit and presents his findings to the clan's wise and compassionate leader, she refuses to believe him. Tensions are already running high between the clans because the cats are getting sick from fish from the polluted rivers, flooding is widespread, and they must invade each other's territory for food. The tragic death of Graystripe's mate as she's giving birth and his betrayal of the clan by loving a cat from an enemy clan bring the simmering tensions to a boil as both groups claim rights to the kits. Other secrets come to light as Tigerclaw, exiled in disgrace, vows revenge and Fireheart becomes the new deputy. This exciting book is not for the faint of heart as it is often violent. It is reminiscent of Greek drama, with its huge cast of characters (a chart of allegiances is included), intrigues, divided loyalties, star-crossed lovers, and parents murdering their offspring. Fans of the series will lap it up while impatiently awaiting the next entry.

Gr. 6-9. Following Fire and Ice [BKL Ag 03], this third book in the Warriors series finds the cat Firepaw still suspicious of Tigerclaw, the deputy to the leader of ThunderClan. For his part, Tigerclaw continues to have it in for Firepaw, and as Firepaw investigates the death of ThunderClan warrior Redtail, a number of secrets are revealed--to the dismay of many clan members. Hunter adds to the mix a devastating flood, shifting alliances between clans, treachery within and without ThunderClan, and attempted murder--a combination that makes for another dynamic episode sure to please series fans. Silverstream,Graystripe's mate,is going to have his kits! But then the unbelievable happens...Silverstream dies in her kitting, and Cinderpelt, who is now forever injured from a monster,is unable to save her.Graystripe goes into Riverclan with his kits, thinking it was for the best(Believe me,it's not).
So,you know Fireheart's suspicions?Well,he was right.Tigerclaw attacks Thunderclan with Brokentail's old band of rogues. But he isn't after the CLAN specifically...He actually tries to kill Bluestar,to become the bloodthirsty leader we all know he is after!Luckily,Fireheart comes to Bluestar's rescue.Though she now doubts her own judgment, and soon believes she is at war with Starclan! As if that wasn't bad enough, she has the new deputy meeting after moonhigh!Everycat knows that Fireheart's deputyship will be a bad time for their clan. What they don't know is that he is the fire that Starclan had prophecied to Spottedleaf, the old medicine cat.
Now the depth of the Warrior Cats books is going to begin.Like I said:You may think you've read it all,but this book and series proves you wrong.
And to those who have never read any Warrior Cats books:SAVE UP THE MONEY.IT'S WORTH IT!And read the series in order.Or it won't make ANY sense!Believe me,I tried reading The Power Of Three miniseries before the second miniseries and it made absolutely NO sense to me.Please take my tip wisely.
In this book Fireheart deals with the massive weight of reveling the truth about Tigerclaw and trying to keep Graystripe away from Silverstream through the brutal leaf bare that slowly dies away, but when Silvestream gets pregnant things go wrong and now it is not only fireheart that is buckling under pressure but Graystripe to along with the fact that Bluestar is trying hard to keep her secret to
Spoiler: Fireheart learns that Silverstream is having Graystripes kits. He is uneasy but Silverstream dies delivering two kits. They both live but Cinderpelt or Cinderpaw (can't remember if she is given the name of Cinderpelt yet) is saddened that she couldn't save Silverstream. Graystripe gets depressed and leaves ThunderClan to go to RiverClan with his kits when they are demanded by Leopardfur. SAD BOOK ALTOGETHER!!!!
Oh and I have seen people with warrior names in like comments or reviews talking about being in clans and stuff. Please tell me if you can tell me how to do that.
