Kindle Alexander takes a different kind of approach for this book, one that is clearly less angsty than its predecessor. But, however, there is no shortage of emotion and pure feelings. What Robert creates with Landon is a love that seems to fill in the holes in both of their souls, finding that they simply complete the other, even if their upbringings couldn't be more different. There is plenty of push back as Landon can't quite seem to accept the wealth being an Adams really means. But they work through all the issues with humor, respect and at times a kind of desperation that isn't unlike what Robert's fathers went through in their lifelong love affair. In fact, Kane and Avery are a huge part of this story and their ethereal signs to Robert when he least expects them add just the right touch and encouragement to make things right with Landon.
I see plenty of Kane, in particular in Robert, with Avery a definite influence on sister Autumn. We get to catch up with her as well, a force to be reckoned with as she continues the Adams family's political life. She provided the support to Robert when he needed it most and her love and acceptance of Landon provided a bit of sweet which I really loved, even when she was busy with both her own expanding family and her career.
This book almost reads like a day in the life, as Alexander titles each chapter with dates showing us where we are in Robert and Landon's lives. It's not the tedious day to day, but instead it's a sweeping journey showing their struggles, their not always confident decisions and the absolute adoration they have for one another. Oh and not to mention, the insanely HOT trysts both in and out of the bedroom that Alexander is known for. It honestly doesn't matter where Robert and Landon are, whether public or private, these two can make the other ravenous, and I don't mean for food, but just a look or a brief touch. The passion is incredible, each and every time.
What I take away from this book most is how the Adams family continues to be a close-knit and loving family no matter what may happen down the road. Kennedy as the feisty matriarch definitely adds her no-nonsense approach at the most perfect of moments. Paulie is always in Robert's thoughts and even 'prompts' him to follow his passion. And then there is Landon's own crew, who take to Robert immediately and forge a relationship that just adds to their crazy happiness.
And it is happiness that drives this story most of all. Sure there are plenty of bumps in the road. Plenty of sacrifices. But in the end, a love as strong as Robert and Landon have is never taken for granted. Instead, these two very sexy men show time and again that they are willing to do whatever it takes to make it work, no matter the distance, the demands of careers or that niggling of doubt that this all real, that might have a time or two.
Quite simply put, Forever is a beautiful affair of the heart. Warm and fuzzy feelings are for the taking in this well-written and wonderful book. Worthy of 5 feathers and more.
The last 85% or so is an extremely slow read. The characters face zero external obstacles in their relationship. They live by thinking with their hearts 100% of the time, and the world conveniently bends to their will. (Seriously, despite taking place in mid 2010s United States, there are so many "fated" coincidences that the only explanation is magic.) (Also supremely annoying, the characters use this "fate" as an excuse to totally ignore healthy boundary setting. They're bordering on emotional abuse at times.)
If you're looking for a biography of two imaginary characters that feels like watching them bragging about how awesome their love is over social media, this is for you. If you're looking for substantial plot or complex character interactions, maybe look elsewhere.
A friendship develops and Robert uses his connections to insure Landon has the best rehabilitation care back in the US plus the use of his townhome. A month goes by and both are wondering wht the other hasn't reached out. Robert finally does and like his dad, Avery, he goes all in. He knows Landon is it for him. He just has to convince Landon. Landon is so overwhelmed by who Robert is, son of a vice president, he feels inadequate. Robert does everything to prove to him they are perfect together and works tirelessly to create a beautiful life for them. This book is the perfect sequel to Always!

Forever is soooooo beautiful and incredibly moving. I love Kindle’s writing style and was totally invested in the characters and story from the beginning.
Always had a massive impact on me when i read it and i’ve always wanted to know what happened next for Kane and Averys children.
Forever picks up about 8 months after the end of Always to find Robert working as a heart surgeon in Germany. He meets Landon in the hospital where he is a patient.
I don’t want to go into the story, i wouldn’t want to spoil it but if you’ve read and loved Always you need to read this book. I highly recommend it.
Blaming himself for the death of Kane, Robert heads to Germany after he receives a sign, which he believes comes from his father. There he meets Landon Russo, a man who is recovering from an embarrassing predicament, a man who will alter Robert's life, forever. The connection between the two men is instant and a friendship and bond forms that is more than soul deep.
Kindle Alexander takes their reader on such an emotional journey that reaches the very depths of their heart. This is raw emotion and love in its purest form. Together Robert and Landon find a love that is soulmate material. Even though they come from completely different backgrounds, they fit together perfectly, they compliment and balance each other. Like any other couple they do have issues, however they work through them in their own unique way. Their passion is hot and intense, and leads to many heated moments both in and out of the bedroom.
What I really loved was the way in which Kindle was able to weave Avery and Kane into Robert and Landon's story, it was sheer magic. With their signs and directions, Robert was able to work through decisions and move on feeling both his fathers love and encouragement. It is obvious that Robert, even though he is the very image of Avery, is heavily influenced by Kane, and catching up with Autumn, his sister, shows just how much she is like Avery. Seeing them together and with Landon, showed just how tight knit a family they are. Add in Kennedy "Nonnie", Robert's grandmother, and you have the perfect family. Nonnie, now in her nineties, is an absolute force of nature. Landon's family also brings in more love and happiness to the lives of both men. It was wonderful to see Paulie also mentioned, he played a large influence on Robert's early life and he still does.
FOREVER is a journey of acceptance, understanding, romance and passion. It is also one of love, a love that will remain Always and Forever. Breathtaking and beautiful ... Robert and Landon are everything.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 FIVE STARS (or should I say feathers)
I enjoyed the journey with both characters, Robert creating a new carreer for himself despite being a renowned cardiac surgeon and Landon sticking to his carreer with the air force, living a long distance relationship.
Family and friends play a role and are hilarious side characters.
It was fun to read after the tear inducing first chapters.
Another fantastic book from Kindle Alexander.
