Each of the four stories can be read on its own, but the collection forms a united story that is more than the sum of its parts. Joanne Jaytanie's “Christmas Reflections” and Angela Ford's “The Christmas Wreath” have close ties and even some rather direct interrelations between their tales. Their respective introductions are perhaps a little too overlapping – I wish that the “Hey gang, let's put on a business!” had been rolled out into an independent introduction rather than being duplicated in both stories.
Ms. Jaytanie's tale, the first in the set, was in my opinion the most well-developed and satisfying of the four stories told in “Forever Christmas”. (Ms. Ford's gave me the feeling that the edits required to bring each story to equivalent lengths cut a little too close. I wish she'd had another 10 or so pages to flesh out her story and characters a bit further. This is another reason why I wish there had been an independent introduction – this way, each author could have had the same 50 pages without having to worry about the initial set-up.
“Christmas Kiss” by Sharon Kleve and “Candy Cane Kisses” by Elle Rush complete the set. I wish that the two of them had collaborated a little closer, so that there would be uniformity in the name, age, and marital status of the sheriff, but this is a minor quibble. The stories themselves do not suffer because of this inconsistency.
In all, “Forever Christmas” is a nice holiday collection, which doesn't need to be read in December to be enjoyed. I would like to see the authors (perhaps all together, perhaps with an addition or replacement depending on availability) perform a similar collaboration in the future. (UPDATE: Apparently, they have. Jaytanie & Ford return, along with two new writing partners, in “Forever Christmas: The Second Season”)
RATING: 4 stars.

CHRISTMAS KISS -This is Adelaide's story. She has been in a very dark place due to an abusive relationship. Then she meets Roman Bennett. Things change for her, her hair, her clothes, her outlook on life, and her love life. He is perfect for her and fits right in with her lifestyle. She opens the ornament shop with her 3 friends on the tree farm. Cute story, short but sweet. No sex scenes! I really enjoyed it. HEA for the two of them and their new puppy.
THE CHRISTMAS WREATH-She loved him when she was 15 and he 3 years older. He leaves town and she loses touch. He returns home to bury his sister and they reconnect. She is one of the 4 best friends from Christmas Reflections. There is a little mystery involved and he has come to town undercover to solve the crime. The town comes together to help them find their HEA. Good story. I enjoyed it.
CANDY CANE KISSES-For some reason this story did not download to my Kindle. I tried several things and it just wasn't there. I'm sure it is as good as the other 3 and maybe you will have better luck with your download.
Bottom line--this a good set of stories and I liked all of them. It is well worth your time, etc. A fun read.
