That being said, let's talk about the on going love story of Jordan Brewer and Stephanie Barrano.Their story continues from their tragic, and yet emotionally charged, love story in For Always. As teenagers, they fell in love but were never together due to age and other relationships created as scapegoats. However, they have loved each other from the very beginning until an enormous tragedy struck. Jordan, and his then ex-girlfriend, were in a major car accident that claimed the life of the ex-girlfriend. That accident changed all their lives; Jordan has PTSD and leftover feelings of guilt and what-if questions while Stephanie doesn't want to push Jordan beyond what he can handle.
And Forever picks up where For Always ends: the couple is finally together, Stephanie is heading to college, and Jordan is going back while also participating in a band as a favor to a friend. Will the distance, and lack of communication, be the couple's downfall? Can they truly trust each other? Will other people get in the way? Jordan and Stephanie are the cutest couple, and their love story has made me feel every emotion. There are real struggles: jealously, distance, regret and so much more that act as obstacles for the couple, but their love proves stronger. Their love isn't built upon fantasies, promises and rainbows but instead built upon trust, communication and acceptance. Each of them has their own specific flaw, or downfall, and true love includes accepting that person for everything: the good and bad.
I would recommend this book to anyone! But after you read For Always, otherwise it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I would actually recommend reading anything by Danielle Sibarium because she has a way with words and romance novels in a way that is fresh and exciting. Her books capture you from the first word, and don't let you go until the last.
This book shows Jordan and Stephanie coming into adulthood and dealing with more adult situations. So, even though the For Always was a YA book, this one is for more mature readers. It isn't graphic, but it isn't quite as clean either. As an adult reader, I love seeing this transition from YA to NA, and I think the author did a great job in that aspect. She gave us their younger years and then allowed us to see them grow and mature. And, I'm not gonna lie - I enjoyed reading them finally exploring each other sexually. There's always that build up and anticipation for it in YA books where you're left yearning for a little bit more, and this gave me that little bit more I was looking for.
Since I beta read this book, I haven't seen the final copy. There were some editing issues in the copy I read, but that was before it made its final trip to the editor, so those may be fixed now. Either way, I definitely recommend this book, especially if you read and enjoyed Book 1.
And Forever is full of romance and love. Stephanie is the typical college freshman torn between what is comfortable and familiar and the excitement of a new beginning. She takes the readers with her on her journey of self discovery. There are points that made me laugh and cry. Some I just wanted to ask her WHY!! This book gets deep into how complicated and difficult love can be. There is a message of trust and self worth throughout the book. Both Stephanie and Jordan grow as characters and take you on a memorable ride as they do.
Danielle Sibarium never disappoints! I've enjoyed each and every one of her books. And Forever is another wonderful addition to her growing collection of YA books. I highly recommend!
